I had my belongings stored with the crate n store, program, offered by Johnson Moving and Storage. Initially, I felt good about my choice of storage company because they were helpful and accommodating when delivering and picking-up my crate. However, when it came time to get my belongings back, I was severely disappointed with the service I received. I called to schedule the delivery of my crate on May 27th, as I was moving in the week of June 1st. I spoke with a representative (Carrie) who told me that as long as I didnt have a balance on my account it was all set to be delivered, but could not schedule it until the 6th of June because they were booked until then. I agreed on the delivery date, but soon got a call back saying that I had a balance of almost $300. I spoke with Eric, in accounting, and asked why I had a balance because I had paid every bill that I received in the years time that they had my belongings. He informed me that August-February went unpaid (they picked up my stuff in July of 09 and I paid for the first month with the delivery fee). He told me that he could print them out and mail them to me, which he did, but I did not receive them for four days because of Memorial Day weekend. When I received the bills, I called to arrange a pick-up of my things to avoid any extra charges because I already had to pay $300 out of pocket and on short notice. Carrie told me that if I got the bills paid that day, she could put in for my crate to be set-up for pick up that afternoon. I asked why I had not received them monthly, in the mail, and Eric said, "It shows that Decembers bill didnt even get mailed, but I cant tell you why." So that attempt to find out whose incompetence I was paying out of pocket for was fruitless and I did not even receive an apology for THEIR error. So, I gave Carrie a call back the next day, asking if I could pick my things up the next day, Saturday. She told me no, but she could call operations and she would give me a call back. I never received a call back. So, I called back on Monday and asked, once again, if I could get my things that day, to which she replied, "No, you must call in advance to set up a pick-up." I tried to explain that if she had called me back on Friday, I wouldve been able to set it up for Monday, if they couldnt do Saturday. I asked if I could pick it up that Thursday, my only full day off of the week, I had to forego month old plans because she said that I could pick my things up then and then she proceeded to hang up on me. I finally got my belongings, two weeks after my initial call and over a week after my official move-in date. I was so disappointed with many aspects of the service I received. Someone had simply not mailed my bills for 7 months, not because they did not have my new address, because they did (bills began coming to me in March), but for some reason that could not be explained, or even apologized for. It hurt me financially to pay them over half of my paycheck, when I shouldve been paying $35/mo., which is affordable. I did not receive a discount, a month free or even an apology. Eric simply had a "dont ask, dont tell" attitude about their mistake and didnt even seem apologetic. Carrie was also not very helpful and ended up being downright rude to me. When I first called in May and she scheduled my delivery for June 6th, she called me back to let me know that they werent even open on the 6th, as it was a Sunday! Lastly, I was extremely upset when she hung up on me without telling me a time or any details what so ever. This is not good customer service. After over a week of trying to get my things, I was not the nicest person to deal with, but that still does not warrant her hanging up on me. The point of customer service is to make the customer happy, not infuriated. I was severely disappointed with Johnson Moving and Storage and will NEVER choose, or recommend, them again, if I, or anyone else I know, have moving/storage needs.

HORRIBLE!!!!! LOCAL COMPANY 1936 NW LOWER SILVER LAKE ROAD TOPEKA, KS. DO NOT USE. THEY WILL OVER CHARGE YOU. MR ZABOKRTSKY TALKED TO ME LIKE I WAS A DOG!!! I WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT HE WAS IN HIS LATE 50S EARLY 60S. I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT HE WOULDNT HAVE KNOWN ANY BETTER. THEY OVER CHARGED ME ACCORDING TO THE FOREMAN TRAVIS COCHRAN. I HAD TO RENT A UHAUL TO MOVE THE ITEMS THAT THE PACKERS DIDNT PACK AND THE MOVERS DIDNT PUT ON THE TRUCK. I SPENT SO MUCH TIME BEING BERATED BY MR ZABOKRTSKY ABOUT BEING TOLD BY THE MOVING FOREMAN, MR TRAVIS COCHRAN THAT I WAS BEING OVER CHARGED BY AT LEAST 1500.00 OR MORE THAT I OVERLOOKED THE ITEMS THAT THE MOVERS HAD FAILED TO PUT ON THE TRUCK, MOSTLY OUTSIDE FURNITURE. THE MOVERS REFUSED TO MOVE THE ITEMS THAT THE PACKERS DIDNT PACK. THE ESTIMATOR IS JUST THAT PEOPLE.... AND THAT MEANS THE TABLET THAT SHE PUTS THE INFORMATION INTO MAKES THE MISTAKES NOT HER. THE ONLY OVER ESTIMATION THAT I WAS TOLD WAS THAT SHE ESTIMATED THAT THE BOOKS THAT AT FINAL FIT INTO 2 BOXES WOULD HAVE NEEDED 18. I WAS THREATENED THAT MY HOUSE HOLD GOODS WOULD BE UNLOADED ON MY DRIVEWAY AND THEY WOULD DRIVE OFF IF I DIDNT GIVE THE CHECK THAT I WAS TOLD TO HAVE BASED OFF OF THE ESTIMATE, WHICH WAS OVER, OR I WOULD GIVE THEM CASH. THIS WAS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE BECAUSE I HAVE CANCER AND I WAS PROMISED A STRESS FREE MOVE. THIS WAS ANYTHING BUT STRESS FREE AND I HAVE BEEN SO SICK. I WILL NEVER DO THIS AGAIN. IF YOU ARE ASKING WHY I DIDNT HAVE FAMILY HELP OUT AND DO THIS FOR ME... I DONT HAVE FAMILY THAT LIVE IN KANSAS. TRUELY NEEDED HELP AND GOT TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF.

We did a containerized move (i.e., we didnt need an entire moving van) of family-heirloom furniture from Denver to Manhattan in March 2016, and were very pleased with Johnson. Once we finally settled on a list of items--and thus a fixed cost for the move--the rep we worked with, Eric, was efficient and straightforward. We didnt want to waste his time, and he seemed interested in not wasting ours, so once we got serious about the list of items, convenient dates, and paperwork, things moved very swiftly and efficiently. On the Denver side, the crew of two were professional and polite, and wrapped the furniture extremely well. It took about three weeks from when the crew departed Denver for our move to arrive in Manhattan, and we understood that. The delivery date did change a couple of times, and the delivery window changed, but we were aware in advance that that might happen and it didnt create a problem. On both the Denver and Manhattan side (Johnsons NYC affiliate is Suddath Relocation, based in Wayne, NJ), crews arrived on time and worked quickly. There was no damage to any of our items (including a 2 x 5 foot mirror), and there was never any change in the first agreed-upon cost. We were pleasantly shocked by how smoothly things went, and wouldnt hesitate to recommend them highly to friends and family in Denver.
