My son had been in a home daycare from the age of 3 months to 23 months. He was the only toddler in a home with 4 older aged kids ranging from 4-5 years old. The expectations that were put on him to act the same was becoming an issue for us and I knew that my son was smart, active, listened well and was respectful. But they say by the age of 3 everything they have been taught up to that point is what they will carry with them as the get older and we didnt want to miss that window. I started looking into toddler programs and kept seeing La Petite Academys advertisements. So I read reviews, did the research and began checking on pricing. We wanted to make sure it was affordable for us and that what we were getting for the price was going to be money well spent. We were paying $200 a week for home daycare and had to include our own diapers and wipes weekly or as he ran out. So I called and scheduled a tour at the La petite in Thornton and my son and I took the day to also visit some other schools as well to compare. We met with Jennifer Freeman at La Petite and my first impression of her was WOW, her sincerity in that she really and truly believed in her school. I was taken aback by the professionalism and the information she shared with me before I even asked any questions. It seems you always get to places and then forget half of the questions you wanted to ask. But she told me everything, from the menus they create for the kids, to the curriculum, and how its chosen, even how you as the parent can look up the curriculum cards for that day to see what your child will be learning and how it will pertain to their development. I was shocked, impressed and felt right at home. And my son was already off playing and participating right along with the toddlers in the classroom. Ms. Annette took to him very well and even had him reading books and playing with animals. After at least a good 35 minutes, I knew right then and there, this is where I wanted my son to be. To see his smiling face, running around and being apart of something positive was enough to make my decision. Now came the money part. I knew it would be a little more, but now they have added the diaper and wipes program for an additional $10!! How can you go wrong with that... It has saved us money at home and it has become one less thing we have to try and pack up and deliver to school. From Mid September 2016 to Mid October 2016, my son has spent less than 1 day a week in time out at home, he is more focused, he sleeps better, plays better, he does not fight or fuss about things like he used to, hes not quite talking yet but he has been trying a lot more to express himself. I am just absolutely amazed at the difference weve seen in just a month. La Petite also has an app that you can download onto your phone that allows them to send you pictures and updates on everything about your child from what they ate and how much they ate, to what games they are playing or songs they are singing, pictures of them playing inside or outside and or napping. It makes my husband and Is day everyday to see him smiling, playing and interacting with other little kids his age.. We look forward to dropping him off and picking him up every day, because we know how much he loves it. The kindness shown to us by the entire staff, Ms. Annette, Ms. Lorena, Ms. Alicia, Ms. Connie and Ms. Jennifer. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you do and the inspiration you give not only to my son, but all the others that come through your doors..

Beware- you get what you pay for apparently. I am not sure why this school has no recent reviews on any website. Seems unlikely given the number of daycare/preschools in the area that have tons of recent reviews. We recently signed up our toddler for part-time care. While the facilities are clean- they are dated. The outside play area does have wood chips as ground cover and our kiddo definitely came home with a few splinters in his feet even though he was sent with closed toe shoes and socks. Nutrition sucks at this place. Everything is over-processed and canned. The only cheese I saw served was processed American singles. There is no fresh food served AT ALL as far as I can tell. God forbid your child have an allergy (like mine) as they do not check ingredients on anything being served to the children. When asked- the head of class didnt know if the food offered that day contained the allergen or not (it did and my kid got sick- even though he was supposedly on the allergy list). While our kiddo was in the toddler room where I didnt observe this behavior- a few of the younger women working there (with the older children) were very short and seemed frustrated/angry frequently. My toddler was stressed, clingy and tired every day when picked up. The pros of this place- if you need more inexpensive care- this place is one of the more affordable options in the area. The app they offer for daily progress is nice (though I do wonder how much time the teacher is spending updating a table as opposed to actually watching my child). The staff is ok- the director is very nice. The allergy incident was never reported to her, which is also concerning. If you dont have to take your kid here- there are much better options around.

This place is absolutely awful! The staff here is extremely rude and short tempered. My child attended for 6 months here and the only reason she lasted that long was because they had an amazing teacher there at the beginning that ended up quitting about 4 months in. She was the only teacher at this facility that was actually good with kids. My child cried every single day that I had to drop her off. Being a single mom, I had no other choice but this definitely put tons of stress on me at work knowing she hated it there. She would tell me all the teachers were mean and would yell at all the kids and pull them around by their arms and shirts when they would misbehave. They would always act like they loved and cared for your child when you dropped them off and would pick them up to calm them down. I wouldnt even reach the front door (Which had the security cameras recently installed) and see that they would put them right back down and ignore them completely while my child would follow them around crying. I even witnessed one younger teacher sit down in a play area and my child went to go sit down next to her to hold her hand because she was crying and the teacher completely pushed her hand away and stood up and walked away. I wouldnt recommend this location to ANYONE! Every time we drive by the location my daughter starts crying thinking Im going to take her back. How traumatizing for her!

I love that at the end of every day they give me a hand written account of my childs activities that day. It also tells me what she ate, her nap time, and her potty schedule. I love that my daughter loves the teachers and they obviously reciprocate the feeling. The ongoing outreach to parents to participate in things like literacy night are awesome too. I cant always make it, but I try too. My daughter also comes home singing songs that she learned that day. Some I remember from when I was kid. My cousins both went here 20 years ago and the director, Connie, is still here. So are some of the teachers. They are really good at what they do and if it werent for this place my child wouldnt be as happy as she is. We love La Petite and so will you! <3
