Normally I dont torch any place like this but, this place is a bunch of swindlers and con artists. I brought my car in and I must have had the word "Sucker" written across my forehead to these people. I came in because my car has a rattle in the back. I had just replaced the rear shocks and I figured something was loose. I also wanted to know how much it was going to cost to replace my front struts because I dont have the tool to compress the spring. They said they would investigate the rattle as well as do a 45 point inspection. (This is where my sucker alarm went off) When I got my quote I was told that I needed 2 brand new rear shocks. After I just replaced those 2 months ago, both shocks, brand new with a lifetime warranty. They quoted me $450 for parts and labor for that job, then the job for the front struts was going to cost me $964.53 (actual cost of parts 105.99 per strut) SO!!!! they wanted 1450.00 for this job. Yes I realize theres an alignment that needs to be done, but its not $600.00. So theres overpriced and then there shady. This place will never have my again and I hope it closes.

Most services are very expensive and some even more than what the dealership charges. We bought some coupons way back, and so we have been with them for years. With coupon, oil change are dirt cheap.. They dont do too good of a job either as they tend to overfill the oil. But to be fair, I couldnt find service center not overfill oil nowaday except of course when I do it myself. They also wont change the crush washer every time, so we get a oil leak once a while. Of course they fixed them for free but it was a hassle. The charges were inconsistent, I had them replace my radiator once and they charged me to replace the hoses and thermostat as if they are individual tasks, so my final bill goes to like 900 dollars. Since I know car quite a bit and do work on my own cars, I ask them you had the radiator out, all the hoses would need to be re-attached why charge more labor. They said it was a mistake and the bill was reduced to 600. If I had my wife to bring the car in, we would have paid $900 out the door. Since my coupon card went out, I have never come back.

Autoworks has always been there for me and my varied vehicles over the years... I moved to Minneapolis, then to St Paul, then to Hastings - and still kept coming back to Woodbury for my auto service. Every time I moved I would try a new place, but they would over recommend repairs I didnt need, and Id end up online, doing research and finally just coming back to Autoworks to get the real scoop. Theyve never encouraged a repair I didnt need. Their service is always impeccable. They are good about articulating the trade offs related to repair decisions and always portrayed themselves as a neutral but interested party. As a result, theyve garnered my loyalty. Bonus points have been received for the little play room for the kids, they are always happily occupied no matter how long were there, and I get to sit in the massage chair and relax, so Im in no rush to leave. Thanks to the Autoworks team for making each experience great.

My interactions with Brandon (service advisor) were top-notch. He is a friendly young man, and kept me in the loop regarding the status of my vehicle at all times. I cant say I liked the bill - $1,900 is the largest repair bill I have ever seen. Like most people, I dont know if theyre honest or taking me for a ride; they seem authentic, but that doesnt mean much these days. They did provide me with a loaner, but it was a sad machine (1997 Intrepid). I know loaner cars arent supposed to be glamorous, but a 14 year old beater....really?! I was thinking more along the lines of a Focus or some other cheapie a few years old. All in all these guys seem to do great work, but Im feeling sore from the repair bill. Then again, maybe its just my car (Volvo). I think next time Ill go with a Toyota or a Hyundai, and save the precious vehicles for the precious people who can afford them!

I first went to Auto Works for a thorough inspection when I purchased our 02 Mazda Tribute a few years ago with 140k+ miles. They provided an itemized list of future service needs without "selling" any work. I have used them several times since (as the items failed that they predicted would need replacement). Most recently, they fixed a misfire issue. The diagnosis showed a failed coil. They gave me an itemized list of options (replacing only the failed coil, replacing the other 2 also buried under the manifold, replacing all 6, replacing the carbon fouled spark plugs), but did not pressure me to do any of the work. I ended up having them do all of it, and they provided a free loaner vehicle over the weekend. Its no fun spending money to maintain an older high mileage vehicle, but its great to get reliable service from a trustworthy shop.

Autoworks has always been my place to go! And Rose is the person to talk to! Out of the three cars I have owned Autoworks has always got the job done right. From my passenger door handle getting stuck to regular maintenance. I leave after having my car taken care of with peace at mind. Even with an oil change they do a complimentary vehicle inspection and point out things that need to be replaced/fixed that I may have not noticed. Pricing is not too shabby either. Way better service than Valvoline and better peace at mind. Staff has always been super friendly and hear you out as well. When my car decided to take a dump last week by Monticello I told the tow truck to take me to Autoworks. I trust them more than the service at the dealer I bought my car from. Quality and Service is 5 stars all the way. Thanks again Autoworks!

Had a good visit, and will continue to come due the VIP Card, which is why Im writing this now. Only concern I have, same as last review, is always paying for the extra quart of oil.... I had to pay the 3 dollars and change, doesnt make sense when it says four oil changes and having to pay the additional cost. I would like to see four tire rotations with the oil change, instead of two, on the VIP card. I asked about the price of tire rotation, and it was 18 and current oil change special was 19.... They already have to inspect the tires/brakes/etc, not sure why the tire rotation is such a big up sale and cannot be added to the card, being most rotations happen when oil is changed. Lastly, there are no prices on the website, just the services that you do. Would like to see prices, so we prep in advance financially.

We brought our 2008 Hyundai Sante Fe for diagnostic analysis and potential repairs. We previously had brought the vehicle to the Hyundai dealer which quoted $350 to $400 to diagnose a check engine light. In the process, the dealer also managed to disable the after market auto start. Rather than return to the dealer, we brought to AutoWorks who has done other repairs for us. As usual, AutoWorks called to explain the issue a few hours after we dropped it off. They said someone (Dealer) had turned off the auto start switch. Autoworks fixed that, no charge. Autoworks also explained that a wiring issue was causing the check engine light to turn on. They diagnosed AND fixed it for $299. Quality work by quality people has been my experience.
