PLEASE NOTE I made a mistake. This review is for a company with the same name in NJ. The NJ company TOLD ME on the phone they were based in Brooklyn based company. This is fraud and they NJ company should be prosecuted for this and for the many awful things they did to me and other customers. Make sure you dont the NJ company pose as this company. I would remove this review, but google wont allow me to If I could describe my experience with this company in one word it would be FRUSTRATING. I used All Star Moving services to go from NYC to Denver in August 2016. I would NOT recommend their services to anyone! Throughout the entire moving process this company was aloof, rude, and incredibly deceitful. To start off the company scheduled a noon-4 window, showed up at 4 and the head mover told me they were going to take a 30 minute lunch break before they started! I reviewed the estimate, and what overage charges may be added based on space we booked vs. space we used on the truck before the movers started the job. During this conversation I stated to the head mover that I did not want to use more than the space booked and they should notify me before going over the allotted space. All seemed well until they packed the truck way over our space! When I asked them to open the back of the truck and looked inside the truck had been packed in a very inefficient manner and that seemed to be on purpose to charge more money for more used space. I asked the movers to remove an item so that I was not charged extra, and the head mover was reluctance to fix the job. It took an unreasonable amount of time to convince them to fix the packing of the truck and in that process the head mover said some short nasty words to me. I called the company a few days later to express my discontent with the move due to lateness, and the insulting words the head mover said to me. Monica, the manager, was extremely short with me over the phone and she hung up on me. I got no response form the company after being hung up on by the manager. The on the day of our move the BIGGEST truck you couldve imagined, far bigger than what had picked up our belongings in NYC, arrived in Colorado. And this is where it got beyond crazy... This truck was so large that on a normal size street the truck could not park anywhere! It was so large it blocked traffic on the street, it could not back into the alley behind our apartment (which I have driven a 24" uhuaul into) and eventually the size of this truck warranted the police showing up forcing the truck to leave. The truck had to park around the block and the movers then UNLOADED OUR BELONGINGS TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD! Now the movers, Maurice and Susan, were very kind and helped us get stuff to the front of the building, however because of the ineptitude of the company the movers showed up completely unprepared for the job. The movers told us All Star Movers regularly sends trucks that are too large to drive into a city so that they can charge extra long distance carry fees. The following days resulted in no response from the company and Im glad to have them out of my life now. I must urge anyone considering their services to reconsider as they do not care much about their customers and generally just provide a bad service at their job.

Initially I was wary because I had read SO many good reviews about them on the internet I figured they just couldnt be true. Thankfully, I took the risk anyway and was pleasantly rewarded with an excellent experience. Most of my contact throughout the move was with Rich, the owner. He does business in an upfront and honest manner, which I very much respect. He guaranteed me that they had never once wavered on a price, and I can give credence to the truth of that. The initial quote he gave me was already less than any of the other quotes I received, and when I decided to leave a bunch of things behind he adjusted the price to an even lower rate. Clive and Carlos, who packed and loaded my things were upbeat, friendly, fast, and extremely good with my things. Tim and Damien who unloaded were the same way. Couldnt be a group of nicer guys. When my shipment delivery was to be delayed I was given plenty of notice and a generous discount as well. Rich was grateful for my patience and understanding throughout the experience, and I was grateful for his willingness to ship even such a small load as mine, and to give it priority no less! These guys are really a cut above the rest, and I would highly recommend using them for either your local or your long-distance move within or out of NYC. Thanks so much All Star!

This is a really bad experience for me. I feel I am responsible to tell my true story to let other people know whats kind of moving company All Star Moving is---DO NOT use them!! I basically talked on the phone with the girl names Jessica, I told her my furniture is one bedroom apartment that I used 14 Uhaul truck to move from Charlotte to Connecticut. We went over the list of the large item I have(I even have no sofa) She gave me the space 365cf. Then this companys mover came over, they only put some boxes there, one of my single bed in the trunk, and they told me the space I paid for is full. I finally understood the way they estimate the space is to give the customer very NARROW square footage and times the height from the truck floor to the truck ceiling. My boxes and my furniture never reached the ceiling----that is not possible. The mover said, ok if you want us to move rest stuff, you have to pay more. The more money is about another $2000, add the contract we signed I paid $1003, the whole moving process will cost me fortune over $3000 to move one bedroom apartment from Connecticut to Charlotte NC. I cant afford that. So I have to leave my stuff behind. DO NOT repeat my experience again!

Please make sure you research and ask many questions before using this company. Our experience can be summed in one word like many of these other posts as- FRUSTRATING. The workers and staff can be read as very "difficult" based on their billing structure and practices. My wife, and I had a very tricky time motivating the workers to work promptly, so that we could keep the amount of hours for the job reasonable. The workers who completed our job took excessive breaks (which ended in us finally pulling the plug on the day by allowing another moving company to complete the job). Further, they charged us a surprise "toll fee" just to begin the job, and also billed us for for two hours before they even started the job (claimed a two hour drive from brooklyn to harlem). Im pretty sure there are less risky companies for you to look into, that can complete your job hassle free- I would honestly recommend you look into them. The end result of our experience was- unfortunately, paying two moving companies. This company removed my earlier posts, but I would encourage others to remain diligent and continue to make your posting of your experience as they may be useful to others. Delete review
