Staff is rude and giggles or do whispering at the back of you. Floor is filthy and always piled with hairs or dusts. Strange smell and no clothes hangers. Staff yells at you when you make noise out of weights. You have to clean and make the weights return for sure. Space is so crammed and crowded so that you have to wait until other people finish their set to go from point A to point B. Worst part is, they will NEVER provide you any written agreements. Matthew eats his words all the time and this business entity will NEVER cancel your membership and FOREVER charge to your account. I even got a call after two years and they told me I have balance there. Run-down facility with unorganized customer management drives this gym into horrible service and provides nightmare experience for those innocent people who believed what they advertised. Because of these constant failures, staffs change is frequent and they have no interest in the quality service. Please don’t start your nightmare. If you really have to, do not use any credit card or bank information.

I joined this gym for the convenience of location but was disappointed by their business practices. They never laid out in full their charging plan. I had hoped to pay month per month which means you have to pay for all the months youre not using they gym. You cannot down grade for unlimited classes once you buy the class membership and it seems that all their sales tactics are tying to extract $800 from you at the beginning. The front desk staff is rude and unwilling to explain everything in full which I consider poor business. The gym is not work an $800 membership with cramped space, bad equipment, and very outdated locker rooms. DONT use this gym unless you want to throw your money down the drain.

I really like this gym because it is convenient for me, the staff are friendly and the class card makes attendance flexible. Im not really a gym machine user, so its great that I can buy the class card without having to pay for the gym membership as well. I especially enjoy the pilates and advanced pilates classes with Jeanette (her classes are really popular, so it pays to get there a little early!). I also enjoy the body sculpt class with Toni, where I definitely work up a sweat. Its great that Body Strength provides mats and other equipment to use in the classes. The equipment seems clean and its in reasonably good condition. The classroom is almost always at a comfortable temperature.

I would HIGHLY suggest NEVER GOING HERE. The gym is run down and smells of black mold not to mention most of the equipment hasnt been serviced in years. The people who do maintenance arent even qualified to do so. Most of the teachers and personal trainers are NOT legally certified. ON TOP of all of this. The Owner Mario is a straight pervert/paedophile constantly groping his clients and EMPLOYEES! I honestly wish there was a zero star option. Because this place is not worth even 1 star or the huge amount of money they charge for the disgusting broken down and overcrowded gym they have. If you go here pay in cash only so they cant keep charging you!!!

Went here for a single session as was travelling, knob cost $18 which I thought was very reasonable. Its a smaller gym, however I went at 8am and had no issues getting the machines I wanted. If youre a meathead or a diva, this is not the gym for you. If you want to workout in a laid back, friendly atmosphere with great service, definitely try it out. Only complaint is my machines tv didnt pick up many channels, but thats not really important at the end of the day.

Ive been a member here for a year. While its convenient for me, the equipment is super old and breaks frequently and is rarely repaired. At least 1 of the 6 treadmills is always broken and every-time I bring it up to someone at reception they either pretend not to know about it or essentially imply the management knows but doesnt really care. I hope, as this neighborhood changes, other gyms with more responsive management will move in.

Very friendly, neighborhoody gym. Not much in terms of appearance or extra amenities, but this place has the BEST Pilates instructors in Manhattan! (And Ive tried other places.) Cant really speak for the other kinds of classes, but if youre looking for the best Pilates classes, this is the place to go. (Especially, Jeanette Palmers classes. So amazing and so much fun! You really feel like youre in the best, most safe hands.)

I have taken classes here on and off over the last few years, mostly during the cold winter months. Living in the neighborhood, it is a great place to get a workout nearby. The new Wednesday night and Saturday night spin instructor, Emily has been amazing. Her classes are fast-paced, great workouts, and her attitude is great. Definitely some of the best spin classes I have ever been too. Highly recommend.

I love the Pilates classes at Body Strength Fitness - I have worked with several wonderful teachers there over the last several years, most recently those taught by the dynamic and supportive Jon Owens. The Pilates studio has a classic, spacious Upper West Side vibe, and being a performer that aesthetic appeals to me, and the instruction is cutting edge, always leaving me toned AND smiling.

Terrific place. You can buy groups of classes that you can use at Life in Motion Yoga and BodyStrength Fitness without having to purchase gym membership. Excellent teachers; subs, when needed, all very good. Something for all levels. Simple amenities. If you want a gym with thudding music where what you wear is the most important part of your workout, there are other places to go to.

After several years I came back to Life in Motion for yoga. I began in the summer, coming a few times during the week and have now fallen into a Tue/Thur routine with Mary. It is one of the things I commit to and it has improved my life both physically and spiritually. Life in Motion is all about the yoga. I go there to do my p;arctic, and always leave more at peace and in awe.

I have been going to body strength for over 10 years. What makes this my gym over others is the home vibe that it gives. It is small and quirky in its own unique way. It has all the basic equipment needed for most workouts. They have been changing equipment over the years and I hope they continue to do so. The staff is always personable and friendly.

Ive been going to Body Strength since I was a freshman in high school. The class card allows you to take advantage of the yoga studio, as well as Upper Westside Cycling and also gives you the option to take fitness classes at the gym. Best deal Ive found in the city-- hence why Ive never left.

I was there for 1 workout, during my holidays in New York. 18$ for a singel training is not that cheap. The gym is realy small but with nice old mashines and bars equiped. Super kind and friendly staff. Good place for a workout for travelers ;)

The staff are nice people. The facilities are small, specially the machines area. Lockers and sauna are tiny. The classes are just amazing. Really good teacher and the studio is just perfect.
