On 9/11/15 I had a problem with my sewer at home, water was backing up from my toilet in the basement so I decided to call Roto-Rooter to help me out. The technician arrived within the time frame I had requested and I explained to him what was happening. He said that my sewer needed to be snaked (which I already knew) and that it would cost $475 plus some additional fees. I was completely shocked at this price. Just to put things in perspective I am a property manager and I use other sewer cleaning companies to service the buildings I manage, not one of those companies charges these astronomical prices that the Roto-Rooter service tech requested. I have buildings with 8" sewer mains and do not pay more than $150 each time they clean the sewer (inside & out). I couldve easily called one of the companies that I use at work but figured why not give the work to a local company in my neighborhood. Well that was the biggest mistake I made. When I told the tech that I use other companies that do not charge that much his reply was "then you shouldve called them". Well that was when I asked him to get out of my house immediately. After he left I ended up calling a company that I use at work and they were at my house in less than 2 hours and snaked the like (in & out) for $120.00. If I was a person who had no idea about property maintenance I wouldve agreed to the price I was told and been completely ripped off!!!! You would think that a company with a name and history like Roto-Rooter would be more trustworthy but that couldnt be the further from the truth. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They are extremely overpriced. Just call one of those $49.99 drain companies, they charge $50 to snake one way, so to do your main trap (in & out) it would be $100 + tax. To be quite honest I am shocked that they have such a high rating on Google, Im sure it is for the simple fact that most people do not know what the correct pricing is for plumbing work and are just glad their plumbing problem was solved. Im sure my sewer would have snaked properly but it would not have been worth the money he was asking, I got the same results from another company by paying a 1/4 of the price!!!

Too Expensive!! My bathroom tub was clogged, so i called Roto Rooter 9/11/2016. 5 Stars for being open on Sunday and being able to send a plumber within 4 hours of placing the call. I was unable so soon so I scheduled an appointment for monday morning between 8 am -12. Roto Rooter schedules in 4 hour blocks and the plumber showed at 11am (5 stars). The tub drain needed to be snaked and the minimum charge was $525 per drain. My bathroom sink was also draining a little slow. Plumber said he could also do the sink for 1/2 off for the second drain. After some haggling over the price we agreed on $650 for the work on both drains. I agreed because Im out of town, my wife just gave birth Friday and didnt want to spend all day thinking about it. After 30 minutes the plumber was done, then surprised me with $650 plus Tax (0 Stars). I was glad to get the job done but should have called around. After the fact I contacted some companies who can snake drains for $150 to $199 for the first drain. 5 Star review if the price was reasonable.

Had a late evening problem on a Sunday where my double sink was backing up badly - and I wasnt running any water! I called Rotorooter and they had someone to my apartment in 40 minutes late on a Sunday night. My technician #288 was friendly, polite and professional. He worked hard and fast. Turns out the blockage was well below my first floor apartment but everyone above me using their sinks was causing mine to back up. I ran up and down the stairs to ask my neighbors not to wash their dishes. But missed one person who had been out. Technician 288 had thought ahead and put a strong garbage bag under the sink when the cascade began. Had he not been thinking ahead my apartment would have flooded and the apartment below would have as well. Within an hour and half my water was flowing and all was well. Great peace of mind since I am leaving on a week-long trip tomorrow. So thankful this horrible thing happened when it did, otherwise it could have been a real disaster! And so thankful Rotorooter offers such a great 24 hour service!

Like night and day. This was my first time using Roto- Rooter and I will never use any other company. A customer service representative responded to my email within minutes and was very flexible and accommodating when it came to scheduling the appointment. Then showed up right on time. Cory 2088 was so efficient, knowledgeable and put me completely at ease. Not to mention he had a seriously botched plumbing valve issue handled in under 30 mins. -Coming off of a recent terrible experience with a local private contractor who flooded my bathroom and never properly fixed the problem I was having with my flush valve in the first place, I was very wary and prepared for the worst. But instead I got a plumbing master. Cant say enough but all I can say is absolutely with out a doubt I will be a loyal customer from here on out and Roto- Rooter will be my first and only call. Cant thank you guys enough.

I had to call Rotor Rooter after a drain overflow from the toilet and water and sewage was gathering on the floor in the basement of my home. The crew arrived as scheduled and began work immediately. The leader of the team, Dexter (No. 733) was very professional in his handling of the situation. He quickly assessed what had to be done, explained to me the process and promised that I would be very pleased when the clean-up was completed. Along the way he always explained what was needed to be done at each step and what he was doing to accomplish this. I was not left in the dark on any details of the clean-up process. The clean-up was done quickly and efficiently. I was indeed pleased with the end results and, based on my interactions with Dexter of Rotor Rooter, I would definitely, if the need arises, call and use their services again. Thank you very much.

The guy who came and did the job was lovely. Courteous, competent, speedy. But the scheduling was a nightmare. I called at 8am and explained that I had to leave by noon for an essential family celebration. I was told someone would be there in two hours. When I called back to say no one had come I was put on hold, and the reps seemed unsurprised and indifferent. In the end, I waited 7 hours and felt Id been misled simply to get the gig; with more information, Id have shopped around and found someone who could keep their word. But at least the guy who did the work was responsible and professional. There is that.

Today was the second time we have used RotoRooter in the last year. Both times we had excellent service. The technicians were professional, extremely knowledgeable, and were completely open to communicating with us throughout the process so we understood what the issues were, what they were doing to rectify the situation, and how we could better care for our plumbing in order to prevent future issues. In particular, our last technician (Chris) was terrific to work with and just a really nice person that made an effort to build trust with us. Great experience. Thanks Rotorooter.
