Not a great place 1.The membership offer is you get one month free but you pay at the end of the month. (You pay either way at the end of the month) Theres no month free. 2. You have to commit to a two year contract in order to get it for $30 a month. The only way you could get out of that contract, unless youre moving out of the country or you have a doctor stating that you cannot do any physical activity. Then after you sign the contract they would charge additional $40 after two months for membership fees. Plus after your one year anniversary they charge you $40. For annual fee. 3. The sale rep at the hands of me was very nice she offered me a deal that she could wage the additional $40 (member fee) if I signed a contract but when she called her manager to get approval, the manager declined and said that I will be charge for the additional fee if I signed a contract. Additional information: One year contract is $40.00 plus sign on fees and membership fees after 2 month. Member ship with no contract is $50. A month plus those fee I mention. Its so sad that they dont offer a special deals to city workers.

This a poorly run gym and I am extremely disappointed in the way its run. The staff sit behind the desk and do nothing all day but laugh and joke with each other. No one works the gym floor, even bother to ask you if you need help, any assistance, equipment suggestions etc, unless its to personal train and make extra money off you of course. They never say over the intercom the gym is closing in 30 mins, just to give you a heads up if your into your workout, not realizing the time, then they get a bad attitude and pep in there step to close up quickly, that's the quickest I've seen the staff move all day. All the Bally locations are very, very similar and I came to the conclusion why...they hire mostly young staff, who aren't qualified trainers, who don't give a crap, who get paid less than most other highend gym staff do and because its so cheap, that's what we have to put up with. Overall ok workout equipment, somewhat clean showers, locker room could do with a makeover and Lazy staff!

I visited this Ballys tonight on a 7 day free trial and it was a horrible experience. I arrived at the gym 45 minutes before the spin class I wanted to try. Over the phone they told me that they will not take phone reservations for classes but the spots fill up quick so I should be there at least an hour before the class. Why inconvenience your customers by not taking phone reservations? When I arrived I was put first on the "wait list" for the class. I changed in the filthy locker room. The bathrooms were dirty. One stall had someones unflushed excrement in it. The floors were wet and there was toilet paper everywhere. When I showed up at the class there were 6 other people standing around on the "wait list" and one bike open. Some other girl insisted she was first on the list, so I didnt get to do the class. All in all, this gym was a horrible waste of my time.

Gym is under $20 a month, with 3 bench presses, an incline benchpress, a squat rack, among dozens of other great stations and machines. You will never get a better bang for your buck. Blink and planet fitness are an embarrassment compared to ballys. I really have no idea what the hell the people on here are complaining about. You want people to walk around wiping your gear for you? Go Pay 200 a month at equinox. They do have stations that are broken for time to time, but usually repaired within 7 days based on experience. I have little to no interaction with the staff so i cant comment there.

Horrible gym! Ive been going to this gym for a two years now and finally made the switch to planet fitness. I honestly didnt know what I was missing out on, they had WORKING MACHINES AND CABLE TELEVISION for only $10 a month. I currently pay $25 at Ballys... This morning I decided to go back to Ballys, 80% of the machines are not working and its been like that for months. And the showers are also broken. I was going to make Planet fitness my night gym and ballys my day gym, since its closer. But quite frankly I dont care, ill just wake up earlier. Im cancelling my membership this week.

Worst gym in NYC. ALWAYS PACKED. Free-weights are scattered all over the place as the lazy, useless staff refuses to do their job, machines that are available are broken, the entire place is filthy. The rude staff screams over the PA system telling you to leave 15 mins before the gym closes then 5 mins later come running up stairs to yell at you in person to get out but yet they always open at least 10 mins late. A membership cost $20 but even if it was FREE I wouldnt ever go back.

All I have to say is, read your contract carefully. If you want to cancel, probably wont happen. They will still keep on charging you. Used to be a Ballys location, which Tap Out now owns. Essentially the same company, and essentially criminals. Again, read very carefully what you sign, or otherwise you may go through a nightmare like thousands of other people. Do not trust this organization with any of your information.

Ive found this location to be clean with a nice variety of equiptment. Although there are a couple of machines that need timely repair most are safe and functioning. For my pleasure and convenience I would love for the hours to be extended earlier and/or later with more offerings of their popular classes. I would also prefer to see other TV programs (like CNN) and hear music more suited to exercise (not ballads).

Worst staff period. Cant even bring your bag to the weight room with lifting equipment. One of the staff says its gym policy in that no bags are allowed in the weight room or the cardio area which is absurd. What kind of gym doesnt allow you to bring your personal stuff with you. Overall terrible experience and would not recommend to anyone. Not worth your time and money especially.
