I am very thankful I found this Salon, as it is always nerve-wracking after a PCS trying to find a new place to go. I went to this Salon based on the reviews I found on here actually and I am so thankful I did. First the Salon itself is very relaxing. Candy has done a great job creating a good atmosphere, and all of her staff is very friendly. There has always been someone at the front to greet me when I walk in and they always offer me something to drink. Not only that, but I also receive both an email reminder two days in advance and a phone call reminder a day prior. Also, you can see pictures of the conventions the stylists attend on their facebook page, but I think these conventions are awesome because all of the stylist at this salon are up-to-date on current trends and offer services like the brazilian blowout that other salons do not offer. Second, Taylor has always done an outstanding job on my hair. She is honest about if she thinks what you want to do will be right for you and truly cares about meeting your hair expectations! I have loved everything she has done to my hair and she is a WONDERFUL colorist! Not only has she done a great job with my hair but she is very personable and likable! I truly enjoy the "entire experience" when I go to this salon. Lastly, they sell great hair products by Arrojo. I have finally found dry shampoo that actually works! I absolutely recommend this Salon if you are in the area near Fort Rucker. Trust me, both the Salon and Taylor are awesome!! I would give a score higher than excellent if I could!

I just recently moved to the area, and found this salon online. After checking out the site, and reading up on the stylists, I decided I would give this place a try. Im glad I did. Kim Jones was my stylist - I was so happy she was available because I love Aveda trained stylists. Anyway, when I arrived, the salon was very clean, bright and had a welcoming atmosphere. I was offered a beverage when I arrived, and was told Kim would be with me in just a moment - I was early. It had been a few months sine I last got my hair styled, and it had gotten rather long. Kim immediately had several suggestions of styles based on my face shape and neckline. I was impressed. I rarely get that insight from a stylist - whether or not they have it, they typically havent offered ideas. I went with Kims suggestion of a shorter length with many layers. Beautiful! She also recommended a treatment, which I just might get the next time I go to the salon. Aside from Kims joyful nature and obvious technical skill, I was impressed by her connection with me as a customer. She had asked me what I typically do with my hair, and I told her one of the things I do, very rarely, unfortunately, is curl it. My husband loves it, I told her. So what did she do after the cut? She curled it! And yes, my husband loved it. I have already recommended this salon to one of my friends who has also recently moved to the area. Im looking forward to my next visit.

Other reviews says this business Nicole and dimes.. so true. Im middle aged woman and leaving my first ever online review, thats how disappointed I am. Here is what happened: I was quoted one price but at the check out Im asked to pay nearly double. The owner came up, made a scene rudly and said that "Im trying to take advantage of situation" and must pay the new price, I said Im paying only the price that you verbally quoted me. Her comeback was "but its in the computer under your appointment, I put it there.. " I said but you never told me You changed the price when I was booking appointment? She says that its my fault I didnt read their website and the different price structures among stylists, didnt even apologize but degrade me and said I Am never to come back there again (like I would ever go back anyhow). Super shady and rude!! Good luck with that business etiquette. Other reviews also mentioned rude language among employees. I agree, b$&.. was mentioned in from of me. Bad attitude and sub par service my hair color didnt turn out good at all, and Candy refused to fix it.thats what happens when u double book and work on two people and put in half the attention and effort.. but you pay full price of $200.

I have a lot of natural curl and overall frizzy hair and living in the humid climate of South Alabama doesnt help. Little did I know the difference a good cut would make; I had been setting my hair up to fail my whole life! Candy KNOWS how to cut curly frizzy hair so that your curls will just fall into all the right places. After such a great cut, of course I had to try her out for highlights too. She did not disappoint. My hair looked natural but better which is just what I wanted. I am trying the Brazilian Blowout next and some more dramatic color too. I cant wait to see what miracles she works with my hair. I look forward to each experience. Everyone in the salon is nice and professional. It is always clean and you would be hard-pressed to find better. Nicole Allen Salon is EXACTLY what Dothan needed. A well-trained staff and great attitudes make for a wonderful customer experience. I couldnt ask for more. I have recommended several friends and co-workers to Candy and they are all pleased as well. All but one have made Candy their permanent stylist and the one that didnt just "cheats" on her stylist for Candy to do her Brazilian Blowout. Apparently I am not the only one wowed by Candy!

The hair stylist I used was great, but the salon will nickel and dime you for things that would be unheard of at any reputable salon. I tried to put a tip on my card for my stylist and the front desk lady said that I couldnt do that because the salon doesnt want to pay credit card fees for tips for their stylists, and then directed me to use an ATM machine at the store so that I could leave a tip.Basically making me pay a higher fee than they would otherwise have paid for said tip. They usually try to put me in on the same date to fill gaps that they have on their schedule even when I ask for availability later in the week. This is usually not a problem, but today for the first time I couldnt make it and I called to cancel almost immediately after making my appointment. The front desk lady said that they would normally charge over $20 for a cancelation within 24 hrs but "as a favor to me" she wasnt going to charge me. I explained that the policy did not make any sense when the appointment was made an hour ago. The policy should not apply since I did not have 24 hrs to cancel to begin with and this is the first time that she mentions anything to me about a cancelation fee. She didnt seem to care.
