I am so repulsed and disgusted by the way this funeral home has disrespected my daughters gravesite. My 44 year old daughter was buried at Southern Heritage in Pelham, Alabama on May 18, 2013. I have had to constantly fight with these people since that time. I had to beg them to put sod on her grave; after several months they managed to cover the grave with sod. After that a large hole appeared at the foot of her grave - it took them several weeks to fill in the hole. I took my 14 year old granddaughter to the gravesite today (Mothers Day) to visit her mothers grave and we were horrified to see the shape it is in. There was a pile of old discarded flowers in the back of the headstone, a huge ant bed covered the back of the headstone, weeds and dirt covered every inch of the grave and there are large ruts, which were apparently left by a vehicle of some kind, that circled the grave. I have constantly called and complained about the condition of my daughters gravesite and I have been given one excuse after another. These people have a very flowery presentation and the graves that are close to the entry of the cemetery look good but they have no care or concern for the graves, such as my daughters, that are out of view. I would not recommend Southern Heritage to anyone. I am very hurt by the lack of care and respect we have received from Southern Heritage.

After our son-in-law died in December, we never expected to be back for our daughters funeral six weeks later. Southern Heritage has been a blessing to our whole family. Their staff did everything and anything we asked to help us get through the most difficult time in our life. Nothing anyone could do could take away our grief, but everything the staff did helped make our experience much more bearable. It has been almost two months since our daughters funeral and Southern Heritage is still helping us get through this difficult experience. We needed all the help we could get and Southern Heritage has been and is still a great blessing to our entire family. We are so grateful for the people at Southern Heritage.

I was at my parents grave site this week end to put Christmas flowers on their graves . I really became upset when I noticed that some type of vehicle had been driving over their graves and everyones from one side of the cemetery to the other, like it was a road. I m very upset with this and will be in touch with these people that operate this facility. They have no respect at all for my love ones or the other peoples love ones that chose the cemetery thinking it was ran very well ( at the time ) We have to go over there every spring and put top soil, fertilizer and basically that care of the grave site ourselves. It has been going down for several years now. POOR MANAGEMENT

It was the most horrible thing I have ever witnessed! Things have changed ! Now it is like negotiating for a car. Bob walks in and then excuses himself to speak with manager, This happened at least 4 times. "All of this could have been avoided, he says , with a prepaid plan. Already owning the crypt the still wanted 20,000.00 was still needed" I felt he was pressuring us to buy prepaid plans now. A cremation urn 495.. 104 on Amazon ! Truly heartless and horrible day.
