I went to high cut after reading the positive reviews. I called to make an appointment, but had a hard time because I dont speak Armenian and the guy who answered the phone was not great with English. When I got there, they took another gentlemen who came after I did before me, saying that he had an appointment. That was understandable, I guess, as there are three barbers and he might have had an appointment with that barber, whereas being my first time there I did not specify the barber for my appointment. High Cut kind of a throwback barbershop like in the movie with Ice Cube, but Armenian instead of black. In general, I consider the old school vibe a positive. I got a haircut from George. He had just finished meticulously cutting a 3 year olds hair, so I was glad I got him out of the three (not that the others looked bad). He did a pretty good job. But this is where the three star --- rather than five star -- part comes in: after I told him that I only wanted a little trim, he asked "you mean with scissors?" I said, yes, of course. It seems that they specialize in haircuts using the clippers rather than the scissors. Thats fine. He was pretty good with the scissors and did a really nice job. But when it came time to pay, he said it was $13 instead of the advertised $8 -- because I required scissors rather than just the clippers. Now, High Cuts website (which is really, really nice) and the door both say haircuts are $8 -- even the Google page for this review says "$8 for All Hair Cut" and has a little scissors next to it. I naively thought that meant a haircut was $8. Apparently, it meant a buzz cut. Haircuts are $13 (I considered for a moment that this was a surcharge for not being Armenian, but I doubt these guys would do that). So, in summary: - good haircut - good old-school vibe - nice barbers - bad price switch after cut - hard to set up an appointment if its your first time and dont speak Armenian

Been going here for 16 years (since high school!). The older barbers have a ton of clients and a list of appointment posted on the mirror. It is like the armenian version of the movie barbershop as someone else pointed out. My barber, Ashot, cuts my hair exactly how I like it. Prices did go up about 1-2 years ago but Id rather pay these guys then some big chain that charges $15-20.

Went here for the first time last week and Im definitely going back. Old school barbers for sure, great guys. $12 for a mens haircut, you cant beat that. Bebos was my barber, great guy, he even squeezed me in for a cut as they had an appointment and the guy was running late. They are Spanish speaking as well. Cash preferred and Appointments preferred.

Place is clearly a drug front or some form of suspicious activity, I walked in and there were 4 guys sitting down and 1 barber. Soon as I walked in everyone one went silent and starred. The barber told me to go away and that they were "very busy". 4 old men sitting around at 8:30 am is not "busy".

I have been going here since I was a child, all the barbers are friendly. They are usually open pretty early with Ashot being the first barber there around 7! Appointments are highly recommended especially on the weekends.

Prejudice! My man went here and was told he needed an appointment. Their full of it! If your not Armenian good luck getting service here. Maybe once my post is up they might change, But I doubt it!

I used to pay $15 for my hair cut (once a week). I just recently discovered this place, and am getting a better hair cut for half the price ( $8 ). Will definitely go back.

Says it closes at 6 on sunday. I showed up at 5 and an old guy mumbled they were closed. Did I mention a guy got their just before me and was allowed in? Assholes
