I know this review goes against the majority of reviews on here, the odd thing is my wife chose this salon based on all the positive reviews. We are new to Colorado Springs and my wife was looking for a good salon to have her hair cut. She selected Eye Candy based on the reviews but her experience wasnt pleasant in any way. First, upon arrival the atmosphere was dark, no one identified themselves as either the Receptionist or a Stylist. Everyone was vague and appeared to be avoiding contact in the front of the salon by retreating to the back. There was confusion because the Receptionist, who wasnt very pleasant on the phone had double booked my wife with two different Stylists. On the phone and in person the Receptionist had a poor attitude and is either uncaring or incompetent. For a short time her Stylist, Annette seemed like the Receptionist because she was sitting at the Receptionist desk, and never identified herself until it was made clear that she was the one my wife had made the appointment with. (She said upon arrival, "Ok I am going to double check with Annette" then returned from the back and said "Actually I am Annette", and excused her actions thru the double-booking issue.) Throughout the session, Annette made my wife feel embarrassed by leading her with questions that she responded with in diminutive or accusatory tones. (ex. my wife cancelled a hair coloring because she recently became pregnant and wanted to be cautious. Upon saying this to Annette, Annette went off on a tangent on my wife about how she always hears that from pregnant women and its actually safe to color hair and that she wished her clients would stop thinking that way.) Later, my wife also shared her opinion that she doesnt think Korean (she is Korean) Stylists do western style coloring very well, where Annette then reveals halfway through the session that she is half-Korean and takes offense to that. My wife then felt extremely uncomfortable and didnt know what to say afterwards. A hair salon is a part of the Service Industry, and at what point is it okay to belittle (directly or indirectly) a paying customer in the Service Industry? Speaking of paying, the haircut cost $57.00 and after it was done, my wife still had very obvious split ends. Now I am not a hair expert but even I know what split ends look like. My wife hadnt had her hair cut in 3 months, nor does she excessively color her hair or use product. The split ends was simply old hair and cutting or treating them should have been Styling 101. For a $57.00 haircut, the very least one could expect is for a healthy clean look once it is done. While I was sitting there waiting for my wife, Annette repeatedly attempted to upsale us, or push expensive salon products. (ex. My wife said she liked the blow dryer Annette was using, so Annette immediately tells us that they sell it, then goes grabs the blow dryer, rings it up with the haircut, and tells us it is $187.00. Her tone at the time felt like she was trying to guilt me, in front of my wife, into purchasing it for X-mas. I didnt appreciate it and really didnt appreciate her asking me twice if we were going to purchase it before removing from the bill.) Overall the haircut was of poor quality, it was expensive, everyone in the Salon carried an attitude as if they were working at Paul Mitchell in NYC, and the experience was nothing like what others described in their reviews. My wife will not be returning and I hope no one else experiences what we did. My wife did not want to write anything, but I couldnt help it with poor service of such magnitude.

Im new(ish) to Colorado and have been looking for a good place to get my hair done. The first place I tried did a terrible job, and the second was great however it was an hour drive and expensive. So trying to find something closer and many a little less expensive I asked a friend where his wife goes, and he told me about eye candy. This was my first time at eye candy, and Alissa was my stylist. From the outside, nothing in the Springs looks impressive but this was very nice once I walked in. I thought Alissa was great, she was very easy to talk to and made the experience comfortable, coming from someone who had the same stylist for years thats always a great touch. I came in asking for high lights, Im trying to get a natural looking blonde from a natural brunette. Due to the pervious places I tried I think, the color when bleached turned a little orange-ish. Because of that reason I think I was toned a little darker than I was expecting, at times I think it may be a little darker than when I came in even. Hoping maybe after a shower and a couple days it might look different, I dont know sometimes it does to me? However I thought overall, even with not turning out exactly how I pictured, the color is very pretty and the experience was good. This place isnt any cheaper than the last one I went to, but its not an hr drive away, a little more than Im used to spending back home in Michigan but I think prices depend where you are. I plan on returning and working with Alissa again and hopefully getting to that "perfect blonde" color Im looking for. Definitely recommend if youre new to town and dont want to try out a number of places like I have!

I had my hair cut by Araceli three times. The first two times it was fine, but this last time she totally butchered it. I chose this salon, and her as a stylist, because of the good reviews and the amount of experience listed in her bio on their website. When I started going to her, I explained that Im trying to grow it out. I made an effort to remind her of this every time I went in, and she always confirmed as if she understood, but I guess on some level she really did not get it. She kept wanting to texturize it, and I told her every time, no texturizing. This last time she was really insistant, and she said that the texturizing scissors wouldnt damage it like the razor, so I figured she knows what shes talking about, right? Wrong. I should have known when she spent extra time styling it. After I got home and washed all the product out, it looked like it had really bad split ends, the day after having it cut! I tried to do a deep conditioning treatment to see if that would help, but of course it didnt because it was all the texturizing that was making it look so awful. Plus, I lost all of my progress growing it out. Some pieces are shorter than they were last winter! For reference, its August now, so I lost eight or nine months of growth in some spots, but just some! Its terribly uneven. I have no idea what she could have been thinking.

My overall experience here after going 3 times is PRICE GOUGING! !!! Also, Beware.. I caught reviews on here at 5 stars put on by the owner and people who work there!!! Keep in mind I chose this salon for no amonia products, and was told that is all they use, but you get a different story after you reach the counter to pay. 1ST visit: as a partial foil, total color and cut also an eyelash refill. Total price: 150.00 2ND visit I had only a color retouch. I paid 75.00 i checked the brochure and seen it was priced at 55.00. When i asked about it, thier response was an 20 dollar upcharge for the no amonia color products. 3rd visit: Color retouch with partial foil, cut. Cost 195.00 After my conern with prices going up you would think it would of been mentioned to me the rate had changed Again! But No, I was not told the price went up 50 from last visit due to her being promoted to a better paid stylus. . You know the Aveda aprroach to raise a price on you. Another great rebuttal. I also had to have her fix it for over processed blonde. I didnt ask to be blonde. Also, for 200 you expect a quality haircut. I had to coach her on how to shape it evenly. I cant tell if it is lack of care, overall work ethic or just bad work environment. Very poor communication to say the least. Beware!
