As one of the top rated barbershop for Altamonte springs I had high hopes. Unfortunately I was let down greatly. Overall appereance and atomsphere 3/5: 3 because nice leather nice older feel of the layout but also only a 3 because the floor was covered in dust and hair even though there were no customers. Personal Experience 0/5: "Mat" was the only barber available and rushed me during his "lunch break". which he admitted to me after i had already paid for the haircut. More on my specific scenario with Capps Barbershop: Very rude service by "Mat". Floor and work Space was dirty from the previous cut. Which if it was busy I would understand, but that was not the case. I walk into the barbershop and "Mat" has to turn on the lights even though its during his working hours. I try to explain to "Mat" how I want my hair cut. He stops me mid sentence and tell me to sit down and starts to cut my hair before I have even agreed to anything. So instead of being rude I allow him to trim my sides and when he "finishes", I wanted him to trim up some weird spots he left out because he didnt understand what I wanted in the hair cut. he dusted me off and stood me up and starts to walk me to the register where then he asks me if I want any of the other services. And by that time I just wanted him to no longer further mess up what he did to my hair. I wanted a Haircut, shampoo, product and maybe even a clean shave if the atmosphere was right. He didnt offer me what benefits of being a member offer any products that the barber shop store sells. I was willing to come spend a lot of money and time at the "best barbershop" in Altamonte springs.

This is by far the worst barbers I have ever been too! I was trying out this place for the first time since Ive been needing to find a new barber and am new in the area. All I needed was a beard shave and trim. I was not greeted at the front door, but stared at by the very rude receptionist who shot me a dirty look and after a minute I said very politely "Hi, Im here--" and she cut me off rudely saying "do you have an appointment?" No hello, no smile, just a glare as if I was some sort of alien. Then the lady who was supposed to take care of me ignored me for a few minutes while I sat right in front of her and again very rudely told me to sit in the stylist chair. I felt VERY uncomfortable and awkward. Its like all the stylists there lack general social common sense. They did a very shoddy job and it seemed like they just wanted me out of there asap. I smiled and was very polite and at the very end they loosened up a bit. I dont understand why they have good reviews (thats why I went there!). Not polite. Rude receptionist. Very shoddy job, also they used a razor blade and shaved against the grain, rookie mistake (say hello ingrown hairs). They didnt listen to me when I told them what I wanted either, I got a mouthful if I said anything. They didnt know what they were doing despite their website saying otherwise, if they have had experience they sure cheated me! Price wise it is cheap so I would only recommend it if you needed something extremely basic that a monkey can do it or unless youre one of the regulars who have been going there for ages... AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Ive been getting my haircut there for the last 3 years. I have to say after countless mistakes going to other places I finally stumbled upon this. The most cost effective way for someone who gets a haircut more than once a month is to do the membership; Hands down saves you money. Maggie cuts my hair the same exact way I like it everytime, I never have to worry about it being messed up or looking like an idiot because I go to the same person to get a haircut. This concept makes sense right? Atmosphere is awesome, even better when im there. I cant say this is negative because Maggie always works so hard to fit me in, literally above and beyond... but its hard to walk in and get a haircut without waiting because of how awesome it is. Its a barber shop with a haircut and shave club. People with appointments come first. How do people not get this?

My family loves Capps! Been coming for many years. Great laid back old school atmosphere. No problems with lines when you have an appointment. My 3 year old son loves to go and see "Miss Maggie" and has been coming for a cut once a month since he turned one. He loves to get his lollipop after too. My one year old daughter has even been there for a trim. I recommend the place often and everyone I know has had a great experience there... haircuts, shaves, or whatever else you need. You cant go wrong at Capps, especially with Maggie, Cori, and Judy.

The staff does a great job in their cuts and are professional. Ive gone here many times throughout the years and have always been happy with the results. For the few that have given a low rating due to a wait and/or skipped over should know that appointments always take precedence. Also, Ive been there right at closing time and a customer walks in expecting a cut. Thats just rude knowing that its closing time however, they are still provided service. Ignore the bad reviews because I have a feeling they arent disclosing the whole scenario.

My son and I have been going here since they opened a decade ago. Hot lather shaves and sharp, clean haircuts given in a clean, relaxed and unpretentious environment. Appointments are preferred but the staff always go the extra mile to try and fit you in. Excellence comes with a price so sometimes you may have to wait a few minutes (even with an appointment) but dont sweat it, sit back and have a beer or read a magazine. Theyll be right with you. Ask for Maggie or Corey. Hands down the best in town!

Great haircut and service provided, and the ambiance is very peaceful and soothing. However, I waited for over one hour with only two people ahead of me in line and the barbers seemed to take their time with those in the chair despite a line quickly accruing. They also took somebody who arrived AFTER me before I was put in the chair. Normally I would have said something, but I am staying at my in laws house and wasnt in a rush. Still frustrating though.

I just got home and love the cut I received from the barber. She was great. A little conservative on the cut but did not seem to mind when I asked to have a little more cut off. Very professional. Nice looking place for a strip mall. She could have explained the available services better especially for a first time customer, that takes her from a 5 to 4 star. Otherwise, great. I did not catch her name, sorry.

A wonderful establishment. I showed my barber a picture of an idea that I had and she executed it perfectly. She modified it for my head shape and hair and I have been getting it re-done here every 2 weeks since. They even did my girlfriends natural hair in to a modified mohawk and she loves it. I will continue to come back every 2 weeks until I dont have hair anymore
