I am so grateful to have stumbled into CCD. Im a lifelong dance fan who finally in late adulthood and probably the worst shape of my life, decided to make a first venture into the dance world. I couldnt have found a more nourishing, nurturing, special place to take this journey. Craig, Dario, Jennia and Jere...my very first teacher all have earned a special place in my heart. The studio, its leadership, and its faculty have changed my life and I will be forever thankful. My fellow students younger and older are encouraging, inspirational and beautiful inside and out. Dont get me wrong, although I have big love for these people, this hasnt been easy for me. Every class I am mentally and physically challenged; I am humbled and beyond sore, thinking I may actually die at any moment, but the feeling of accomplishment during the class or afterwards...even a micro-sized improvement, feels so much better than sitting on the sidelines my entire life. CCD has a wide range of classes and also hosts classes for students with special needs. The tuition is a good deal and there are frequent specials to take advantage of. The parking is convenient too.

I started going to CCD this past January after reviewing several other businesses in the area and deciding to give this one a try because it was close to school and home. I am glad that I did. I was incredibly nervous walking into the studio because I had no dance experience, and the Mr. Craig, the Executive Director, calmed my nerves and assured me that the teacher would help me and make me feel comfortable. After my first class the dance instructor and Mr. Craig went through the schedule of classes and pointed out the ones that I should take that would help me in becoming a competent dancer. Ever since then I have been regularly attending classes and have improved due to, in large part, the amazing dance instructors at CCD. They are patient with me when I get frustrated with choreography and either take me aside and show me how to do it one-on-one, or ask another, more experienced student, to help me out. I am very glad I chose the CCD for my dance training and will continue to train with them for many years.

Unfortunately, my kids really disliked this place.. and my little girls love to dance. Before I signed them up, I spoke specifically with the director about contemporary dance classes and he assured me they had a mixed medium class which would be great for my girls --- but it turned out it the teacher only taught ballet even though the class was advertised on all their schedules as mixed. The director is friendly and seems nice, but just has no clue whats going on. Sigh. On top of that, the teachers have little to no experience working with children. One teacher repeatedly picked on a young 5-year-old student and made her cry several times in classes. While the other lectured my 3 year old nearly the entire class and flat out called the little girls annoying because they couldnt follow along with notes she had written down -- hello! 2-3 year olds cant read. Maybe its a great place for older students but I do not recommend it for young girls at all. My money went to waste.

My daughter has been taking class at CCD since she was 3 and has continued taking class for the past 3 years. When my daughter was 2 I began looking for dance classes for her and was very discouraged by what Central Florida had to offer. We then took an introductory class at CCD and have been there ever since. The center is an inviting, warm, encouraging place for dancers of all ages. Their dance curriculum is taught by educated, patient and amazing teachers for all ages, levels, and desires. I have seen my daughter become more comfortable in her own skin from the confidence she has gained by being with these wonderful teachers and administrators. We are so blessed to be a part of this wonderful organization.

A welcoming, comprehensive dance education for both serious-minded pre-professional dancers and those that dance just for the joy of it, there is no studio in the area that can offer the wide range of opportunities that CCD does. We appreciate the strong ballet program and the focus on technique, and CCD turns out well-rounded dancers with a full curriculum that also includes strong Modern, Contemporary, Tap, Jazz, African and more. What REALLY sets CCD apart, though, is the careful leadership provided by Craig and Dario. Because of what they have set out to create at CCD, our kids grow not just as dancers, but as little people. Its great to have found a dance studio that shares our values.

I went in to this studio nervous and not knowing what to expect. I was first off pleasantly surprised by the level of customer service provided to me even before I got there. My emails, phone calls were always answered, the information I was given was thorough I felt when I walked in I was prepared. The first class I will admit was challenging, but in a a good way. The instructors I have been exposed to so far (2 in the classical ballet) are great. Explaining and demonstrating everything along the way. Thank you for providing a non intimidating, non judging environment for someone like me, an adult with an appreciation for dance. I highly recommend CCD.

From the moment I first entered the lobby of The Center for Contemporary Dance I was greeted with the sensation of appreciation. That feeling has continued to grow throughout my 3 years as a student. The quality of each individual class, the quantity of dance genres offered and the caliber of the well-qualified instructors is unmatched by any other school I have ever attended. The nurturing, creative and comfortable environment provided both inside and outside of the classroom allows CCD to excel as a more than viable resource for Florida dancers of all ages and levels of experience.

CCD is a wonderful fit for our family— with their large menu of class offerings they are able to cater to the specific needs of my children-- one, who is a recreational dancer and the other more serious minded. The kiddos adore the faculty and consider the studio lobby their ‘living room’. We truly value the stellar dance education they are receiving and the studios’ holistic teaching approach of ‘person, artist, dancer.

Encouraging, dedicated, caring, professional and perhaps the best atmosphere of any studio I have ever attended. Unlike other schools, which in my experience may be strict, detached or critical, the teachers at CCD focus as much on technique as they do self expression and simply enjoying dance. Its a wonderful place full of amazing people, and after every class I am thankful that I found them!

I was introduced to CCD over a year ago. My children absolutely love the CCDs teachers and students. Mr. Craig and Mr. Dario make a wonderful directors. And Ms. J is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS. She is their favorite teacher. I invite you to come dance with us. You will be received with open arms.
