This is my first time to ever write any kind of review about a business. I visited Barbers & the Salon on Epps Bridge in Athens today, to get a haircut. I will never go back. I was treated with zero respect, and as if I was more of a bother, than a paying customer. The gentleman (I use this term very loosely) who cut my hairs name was Jamie. He was extremely rude and highly unprofessional. He acted irritated and put out that I was even sitting in his chair. I even asked him if he was upset that he had to do another haircut. He cut my hair, as if he were being timed. Ive never felt more uncomfortable when getting a haircut. I called the salon to speak to a manager/owner, and tell him of my experience with his employee, and he was just as dismissive. I told him that he had lost a customer, due to Jamies poor customer relations. I was left with the feeling of, "its my problem and I need to get over it". I know that if anyone takes the time to read this review, or any review for that matter, then they value their hard earned money enough to spend it at a place where their presence and business is valued. If I were you, reading this, I would take my business to a haircut chain, spend $5 less, and receive better experience, as well as a better haircut.

My partner and I have been going to the Epps Bridge location for awhile. We both got a cut today, and we had a great experience. Until we got home. My cut, looks great. I adore Audrey. My partner hops around, because all stylists are wonderful....except Marlyce. My boyfriend has a bald patch on the back of his hair. The back of his neck is uneven, his bangs look horrible from the half-assed layering, his hair still touches past his ears, even thought we asked for a clean shape-up! She didnt even shave/clean him up. It looks horrible. I paid 40 bucks for something I could have done....and I dont know squat about cutting hair. We asked her to clean the back of his head three times. She is a crappy stylist & I doubt he will go back, minus the free trim he is going to receive. I wouldnt be so upset if he didnt work in a professional environment with strict uniform rules.

The guy who wrote the previous review was obviously having a bad day or just a pompous prick who thinks the world should cater to him! I have personally had my hair cut by Jamie and was totally satisfied with the with the cut. He has a new customer. Just because someone is good at their job and fast does not mean they are rushing through it. Everyone has different personalities and some can come off short or gruff, but that is what makes us unique as individuals. Maybe you should get to know someone a little before you bash them in a review after one experience.

I gave extremely specific instructions, because I dont usually trust my hair to new people - "3 or 4 guard on the sides, one step longer in the back, trim the top but leave that as long as possible." Ive spent about a year growing my hair out so it was down to a science. I left with a 4 guard on the sides and back, and went from about 5 inches on top to about 1. I even confirmed with her that I wanted to leave the top as long as possible, yet here we are. The haircut isnt bad, its just so blatantly not what I asked for.

Have had my hair cut there many times, they take there time and give you a great cut. One of the few barber shop still left where you can get a shave and a haircut in one place. If you are use to going somewhere like Great Clips this place is several steps above. Much better people and they will cut your hair to your style so it will manage much easier. Give them a try, I did and I am hooked.
