After two great experiences in 2005 and 2007, this was a very disappointing experience. A packing team came out the day before the move and appeared to do a great job packing our belongings. On some of our furniture, they removed the items from the drawers and packed them in boxes, knowing that the particular piece of furniture would need to be turned on its side to be moved. On others, they left the items in the drawers, and told me that the furniture could be wrapped and moved upright with the items still in the drawers. I did not have a problem with this because I have see this company do this very thing, with no problems. The next day I watched the moving crew TURN THESE PIECES END OVER END (turned on its side, then upside down, then on the other side, etc.) to move them across the room! It was obvious from the sound that loose items in these pieces were coming out of the drawers inside, but the crew member did not seem to care. When these pieces reached our new home, it took hours to sort through the contents. It was difficult to even get some of these drawers to open. When I called to discuss this issue, I was told that their best crew was sent to our job, and if the furniture was handled that way there must have been a good reason. No effort made to make things right, or even apologize. Havent heard anything more from the company. Likely our last move with them and certainly wouldnt recommend them now.

I was referred by a fiend to use Georgia Pack and Load; unfortunately, I was very dissaponted with my experience. This was the first time I used a moving company, and I choose not to shop around due to a good word of mouth. My mistake. When I called to reserve my move date, I was told by their dispatcher it would take 4-6 hours with 3 men to move my wife and I out of our 2 bedroom apartment. We budgeted accordingly and set the date. On the moving day, the movers came almost 3 hours later than scheduled, and with only 2 men. When I called Pack and Loads office they explained that they had tried to reach me but had the wrong phone number. For the inconvenience, they lowered my rate and zeroed-out the transportation fee (which I was never told about when I scheduled the move, so it wasnt a big bonus). The lowered rate did not make up for how long it took for the move, which totaled over 9 hours. The dispatcher explained to me that they had 5 people call out that morning, so he sent me someone who had the day off and another mover who just got back from driving 7 hours from a move the previous night. They were both exhausted. In all, I was quoted around $650 total to move a two bedroom apartment only 5 miles down the road. I ended up paying over $1k. I will not use again nor recommend to any other person.

We chose Georgia Pack and Load Moving & Storage because of the "TrustDale" endorsement. This company is fantastic! Dealing by phone with the front end was easy, very personable and helpful. When moving day arrived we were contacted early in the day by the Team leader, Kevin Bankhead, who told us the team of 6 with 3 trucks would be at our current house within 30 minutes. They arrived as promised. Kevin came in first and shook our hands, introduced himself and then he was followed by his 5 man crew who did the same. They did a fantastic job. They were professional, careful with our belongings and made what could have been an extremely stressful day go so smoothly. The icing on the cake, however, was later that night. We had moved 30 miles, on Thanksgiving week, so we left a lot of things at our old house to be sorted through and brought later. When everyone was gone (and btw, they each shook our hands upon leaving and thanked us for the business) and things were quiet, we realized that the crew had seen our Christmas tree box in the garage and decided to bring that as well. They knew we would want our Christmas tree! The tree is up and decorated and I will forever be grateful to Kevin Bankhead and his team for taking care of us on the day we moved.

Horrible experience. Like almost everyone on here I was told that it was such an incredibly busy weekend that it was very hard to find me a slot. They did, and were great at loading - finished in about an hour and a half. I was told it would be unpacked early the next morning....I sat here with no furniture, no internet, nothing of my own. They called about 11 (supposed to be here at 8!) and said it would be about 5 before they got here - different crew, but supposedly on their way. I had to drive 50 miles to the town I moved from and rapidly turn around and come back. I used PODS, and they were threatening to come get them, empty or not! It was a horrible mess. The movers finally got here around 9. and they were young men who had never unloaded before. I found iron skillet box on top of my drinking glasses, and just found a small rip in my brand new sofa. I am disabled and the boxes are stacked over my head! Oh, they gave me a $30 refund for the fuel I used going back and forth to my hometown. Considering the price of the final bill, I wasnt all that impressed. I will never use them again. Horridly disorganized, and a highly disappointing experience. Two stars - and only because of the first movers.........otherwise they wouldnt get even one.

I had been burned by another mover when they "underestimated" my move. When I had Read Ahlemann come to give me an estimate for moving, I explained that I did not want to be faced with another low estimate and then hit with a bigger bill. That is exactly what happened. They did not send enough men or a big enough truck to get it all on one load so I had to wait to finish the move the following week AND had to pay additional costs. Also, several items were damaged in the move. BEWARE of the $300 cap on repairs-it does not go very far. You have to pay an excessive amount UP FRONT for insurance if you want any additional coverage. I had hoped for a better experience.

Despite assurances that our moving slot was available (6 times verified) and that you "dont pay until the job is complete", we were told that due to a "booking phenomena" (really!) the slot was no longer available because we didnt reserve it. Never once were we told what we could do to reserve the slot, only that it wasnt a problem because it was wide open. Received the proposal e-mail and when I responded was told the slot was no longer available and there was nothing I could do to change it. Horrible customer service. Horrible.

We recently used Georgia Pack and Load. The experience was a great one. I had booked a different company and they never showed up. I called Georgia Pack and Load and they did all they could to help us get moved in a timely manner. Everyone was so good to us. The move went very well. We had an issue with one piece of furniture and they are sending someone out to take care of the problem. Best customer service I have witnessed in a long time. This is a great company. I would suggest this company to anyone!
