Having spent most of my life flipping the butcher-or-stylist coin at places like Great Clips, I have to admit Ive set my haircut bar pretty low. As long as my ears appear even and the stylist doesnt leave bald spots, or practically shave my head because she keeps screwing up and cutting shorter to cover her mistakes (Im talking to you, Stacee-with-two-Es from Great Clips!) then Ill be pretty happy. That being said, Im more than just pretty happy with Salon Whimz. I mean, sure, they charge a bit more than Id like to pay considering my small head, but I guess thats the price I have to pay for the guarantee of a perfect cut every time. Like a butterfly tattoo, my stylist, Kelsey, is just the right combination of edgy and traditional, and she leaps between the two with the grace of a gazelle, all depending on my mood for that month.

I would not recommend this salon to anyone. I ended up with a very crooked haircut there. I received very rude, poor customer service when I called back to request that the haircut be fixed. I ended up paying more money to go elsewhere to have my haircut fixed. They had to cut over an inch off the length of my hair and a lot of my layers were cut to even everything out. It will take 1-2 more haircuts for my layers to finally even out this haircut was so bad. I emailed pictures of my crooked haircut to the salon owner along with an explanation of how upset I was about the experience I had at the salon and the response I received was very condescending. There was no acknowledgement of poor quality service or poor customer service.

I had the best experience at Salon Whimz and will most definitely be a loyal customer going forward! Kelsey Campbell is my stylist and I could not have been more impressed with her and her professionalism! She really listened to what I was saying and what I wanted, explained to me what to expect and took me through all of her steps throughout the process! It can be a little scary to go to a stylist for the first time and she completely put me at ease! And the finished product was amazing....exactly what I had explained to her that I was wanting! :) I will definietly be recommending Kelsey to all of my friends and family! Thanks, Kelsey! :)

Loved Barb but front desk was terrible. My husband and I both had terrible service with scheduling. When my husband went in for his appointment they claimed to have no record of it. Later they said they tried to call him to reschedule but nobody called either of us. Then I had a cut and style scheduled but part way through my appointment they claimed it was just a wash and cut and didnt have time to style it. If we lived in town, we would definitely be finding another salon.

Im such a hard critic when it comes to hair salons, but I must say I am so happy I found this place! Kelsey is amazing! She always has me leaving this place with a smile on my face! She actually listens to what I want when I go in for a cut and gives me styling tips on how to keep my hair looking fab. I highly recommend this place! Reasonable prices and a very professional and friendly staff (:

Love Love Love Whimz! Personally I have Hillary do my hair and she does a wonderful job with the color and cut. However, if you were going in as a walk-in, I would trust anyone there to do an excellent job. Friendly staff, friendly owners, reasonable costs - top-notch!

This salon is beautiful! They just moved into a new facility. You feel as if you have stepped out of Belleville and into New York City. The staff is awesome, and very knowledgeable. They carry Aveda products and have Aveda trained stylists.
