I have been going to Crucial Cuts for the past 6 years. I know many barbers in Elgin and have been to different barbershops in the Elgin area as well. Crucial Cuts by far has been the best experience Ive had and thats why I continue to go there. Iggie is always on time for my appointments and if their is an issue with a previous client being late for there appointment Iggie or Jackie will give me a courtesy text letting me know they are behind due to clients being late. Both Jackie and Iggie have soon me nothing but excellent customer service and Im never left disappointed. Very professional with not double booking clients or making you wait forever to get a haircut like majority of the barbershops in Elgin. I recommend anyone to visit Crucial Cuts, because it is a one stop shop i.e braids, haircuts, hot shaves, eyebrows and more. Thank you Crucial Cuts for your great customer experience every time I come.

I have been going to Crucial Cuts now for over 3 years to get cut by Iggie. Their professionalism is exemplary! Their attention to detail is bar none! Iggie and Jackie both are very friendly and are always on point when it comes to anything I ask for. I have NEVER had a problem getting ahold of either of them to set up an appointment and have even been able to do a walk in on occasion if they are not too busy. Iggies freestyle on graphics is nothing less than phenomenal and are one of a kind designs! Over the years I have recommended several people to this shop, all of which agree that both Iggie and Jackie are absolutely amazing. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop to both men and women whether youre looking for something traditional or you want to step outside of the box and try something completely new!

Staff is not very friendly except "jackie" the owner himself seems very disinterested in helping new customers, seems like he has his own clientele that he caters to. Never says hi, never creates any small talk, I would avoid this place if I were you. It was the last straw when one time I went in, waited 15 min for a cut, and the lady jackie had asked me if I can come back in an hour or two because they were going to "close down the shop". I think to feed their son or something. I get that its their shop but that was no way to treat a customer that regularly tips 5, even 10 dollars. Jackie cam cut hair but i wish they would at least voice that its appointment only.Disgusting would not recommend.

This is one of the best barbershops I have been to. Jackie is a phenomenal barber who is constantly improving her craft. Not only is her braids the best I have ever seen, her hair cutting skills are on point as well. I can feel confident going to get my hair cut by either Jackie or Iggy. Their environment at the shop is family friendly. My daughter actually cries when it is time to go. I now bring my nephews to get their hair cut there. My round trip is close to 50 miles, and the service I receive is worth every mile. Thank you Iggy and Jackie for being not only my barber but making me feel like family on every visit.

Regular here every Saturday. I never have to wait to get into the chair. Once my appointment time hits I sit right down. I always get greeted the moment I open the door to come in.. by both iggy and jackie. As far as my haircut... all I can say is that Ive never left unhappy. As long as I explain to iggy exactly how I want my haircut I have no problems what so ever. I would really recommend crucial cuts. Always good service... never a rushed haircut, and iggy and Jackie are always really nice, genuine people. Keep up the good work guys! P-S... Jackie I still want my braids so tell iggy to stop cutting my hair!!

I normally would never leave a negative comment on someones business but I have been fairly upset for the last 24 hours with my decision to utilize this facility. I went in to get my beard trimmed, you know clean it up a bit. Mind you I had a full beard, like 3 inches or so. A trim should not consist of using the Clippers to the skin. Maybe I needed to show her a picture or tell her how to do her job. Im sorry, I got the style she was used to doing and wanted to do versus what I had in mind. Hope you have a better experience than I did.

I have been getting my haircut by the owner of Crucial Cuts for the past eight years or so. He has always done a great job and has been a complete professional. He does such a great job that I have followed him to a couple of different locations and refuse to get a haircut from anyone else. Him and Jackie are always friendly and pay great attention to detail. I highly recommend Crucial Cuts to anyone looking to get a great haircut in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere.

I have been going to crucial cuts for the past three years. I have never had a problem with this business, when I call/ text to make an appointment I received a response within minutes. Another, reason I enjoy going there its the professional atmosphere thats is shown there. the prices are extremely reasonsable for what quality of work both Jackie and Iggie do. So it was my husbands birthday and I called to make an appointment for him as it says appointments only called at the time it says opened and phone went straight to voicemail half and hour later still same thing then pass through the location since I was around the area anyway maybe the phone number was wrong nope shop was close still and 4 people were waiting outside. Luckily my husband went to another baber shop but very disappointed.

Hands down greatest spot you can go for haircuts, eyebrows, beard trims, etc… Ive been a regular here for years now and I never leave the shop disappointed. Iggie is a great barber who can cut your hair and beard and leave you looking spotless. Jackie can cut great hair and do amazing braids. Highly recommend you visit this shop for your next cut
