Walking into Fred Astaire has been a life changing event for me! I have always wanted to learn to dance, but felt very self-conscious on the dance floor. My husband, however, loves music and dancing and I wanted to share this interest with him. Very cautiously I walked onto the dance floor, nervous, unsure, feeling insecure about my ability to hear and feel music. Oh yes, this was definitely out of my comfort zone! The journey has made a tremendous impact on me. I have gained self-confidence, poise, musicality, and an amazing joy of dancing. My instructors, Joel and Andre, are knowledgable, caring and phenomenal teachers. They have provided an exciting, exhilarating, challenging, safe environment for me at the studio and encouraged me every step of my journey. Today, a year later, I ENJOY dancing with my husband, and even participate in Fred Astaire competitions. Being in my sixties, I never imagined that I could transform from a wall flower into a bird of paradise! Thank you Fred Astaire South Barrington for helping me achieve my goals! Watch out Dancing With The Stars...Fred Astaire is Dancing With Their Stars! Being part of the Fred Astaire family will make you feel that way, too!

After 2 years of treatments and surgeries for breast cancer I was depressed and looking for something to help me find some joy. I had always wanted to dance and decided to try a lesson at Fred Astaire South Barrington. It is without question one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I lost weight, aches and pains that I had from a rough couple of years in surgery, chemo & radiation faded away and I discovered life and joy beyond anything I ever expected. The staff is remarkable - helpful, friendly, and fun, they are approachable and help you feel comfortable from the very first time on the dance floor. I love these people - and the community and fun atmosphere make Fred Astaire one of my favorite places to be!!

As we continue to look at improving quality of life, my husband reluctantly agreed to take ballroom dancing lessons with me earlier this year. With trepidation, we walked into the South Barrington studio and later walked out excited to have learned a few dance steps. A few months and several lessons later, weve noted that the dancing, the professionals/instructors and the students have become a big part of our social life. A bit more confident about our dancing skills, this amateur couple just started dipping their toes in the competitive world. Cha-cha anyone?

I wish I had started taking lessons earlier!! The staff at the South Barrington location are absolutely amazing. I feel like they are extended family. I have been going here for about 7 months and I have learned so much already. I will be competing in less than a year of starting ( which was one of my goals). I look forward to every lesson! I had previous dance experience, but never ballroom. This was entirely new to me and I will try to be doing this for the rest of my life. I love it! Thanks FADS SB, you rock!!!

I have been here almost 6 months, and love every second of it! Whenever I come in, time is of no importance whatsoever. I get lost in the music and all my worries disappear! I came in only interested in learning Salsa, but now I cant even tell you what my favorite dance is! I discovered the competitive side of me that I never acknowledged before. I am very happy to have my instructors in my life, along with all the rest of the my Fred Astaire family!
