Expect it to run like a business since it is a salon in Wal-Mart, however the service is exactly like a Regis Salon and Smart Style is a subsidiary of Regis too. The place is appointment based with walk ins allowed and since I am familiar with a job that is appointment based, you cant be expected to be serviced right away if you are a walk in. I will admit I was frustrated alittle this time because I called and asked if I could set an appointment and was told to just come on in. I got there at 7 and was told to wait till 7:30 for an appointment. I wasnt too upset because I was able to shop around Walmart which lead me to impulsively buy some stuff. The experience I have had each time made up for it and I was very happy with my hair stylists. The first time I went in my hair stylist at the time gave me exactly what I was looking for. She even gave me suggestions on products and solutions for my dandruff. The second time I went in my stylist was different but I had a certain photo of what I wanted and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I understand my hair type is full and thick and I dont try to get a hair style that is for thin and lackluster hair. These people servicing us are going to try to make due with what we have to offer in terms of hair. They can make minor adjustments if they need to so you cant be too picky but customer service is top priority in this job. Make sure you have a solid plan when going in or you might not get what you want. Or if you leave it up to the stylists then dont be upset when its not what you were wanting. I have found my new stylist for the time I live here and they have wonderful products and great deals on those products. The price is fair at 15.50 right now for a hair cut. The price of coloring is reasonable to and tipping is optional (but should be mandatory) Dont let the Walmart brand make you feel like this isnt a primo salon. It has stylists who could beat most upscale salons anyway. Charlotte is my favorite and I will always request her from now on. Make sure you ask for her if you are a guy who wants something hip and fashionable. She has a great eye and made me very happy !

Didnt even want to give it 1 star. Seriously disappointed with this place. Rude stylists, poor ability, and appalling lack of customer service. Its not even worth the $15.50. Today I walked in just wanting a shampoo and trim, and I asked the two girls behind the counter if there was a wait time. After asking me what I wanted, it took them about 5 minutes to tell me that they could take me right away. Instead of speaking to me, the women just spoke to one another. They were not friendly or accommodating. The stylist gestured toward her chair, not even telling/asking me to sit down as she ran off to get the styling cape (which was dirty). After telling her that I wanted 2" off and "swoop bangs," she took me back to shampoo my hair (which did not include the "head massage" that their main sign advertised). While she was washing my hair, she also complained at length about a customer who had called in for an appointment for 530 pm, and claimed she wouldnt be willing to stay past 6. When we got back to her station, she didnt ask me to clarify what I wanted, as I figured she knew what "swoop bangs" (side-swept that frames the face and gradually gets shorter as you near the forehead). 15 minutes later (during which, she barely spoke 2 sentences to me, just blathered on with her coworker), I have bangs like we all did back in middle school- basically straight across, right above my eyebrows. Needless to say, I was mortified. When I tried to explain that I wanted a little more layering/frame around my face (how swoop bangs should look), the stylist told me that if she did that, it would be like giving me a mullet! The look on my face was pretty severe at that point, and I was so tired of sitting there that I told her just to finish up and Id get it fixed later. She finally turned on the charm, started calling me "sweetheart," complimenting my hair, and promised to fix everything. She worked to give me some layers and framing around my face, but, by then, it was too late. The damage had been done. I wont be back.

the worst hair experience I have ever had. It took a long time to sit and wait and then the stylist only took four minutes to cut my hair. She butchered my hair left it wet and didnt apologize for the message she left on my head I would never come back here and I would never recommend the salon to anyone hair experience I have ever had. I would never come back here and I would never recommend the salon to anyone. all of the stylist in the salon were making messes on peoples heads and making them pay for it. none of them were apologetic and it seemed like they didnt know that what they were doing was botched work. I guess I got what I paid for and I should have known better but they really need to step up their game
