I dont usually complain about anything ever - but I have to bring your attention to the terrible haircut I received on Saturday at Root One Salon. This was my first visit to your salon, I have a fabulous stylist in the Portsmouth, NH area but it was just getting to be too much to drive up there to get my haircut. So after reviewing dozens of salons online I finally decided on Root One because of the proximity to where I live, cost (though I ended up spending nearly twice what I normally spend on a haircut...) and there were many good reviews. My stylist, Melissa, did not listen to a single thing I said. I was quite specific as to what I wanted done with my hair. I wanted 1-2 inches trimmed off the ends and my bangs trimmed up a little too. I said I did not want layers and stated that again when she suggested she add some. I told her I do not want to add volume to my hair, that I just want the ends trimmed up. She even messed up my part twice, I can understand once, which I immediately corrected, but then she tried a second time to part my hair on the incorrect side. Every 6-16 months I cut 10+ inches of my hair and donate it to Locks of Love - the ONLY reason I was getting a trim was because this is the longest grow out Ive required and the ends where getting worn looking. The end result of my hair cut was nothing like I asked it to be. The right side of my hair is approximately 2 inches longer than the left side - I have layers ALL throughout my hair, so much so that the top layer of my hair in the back is approximately 5 inches shorter than the bottom layer of my hair. If I brush my hair out and let it hang ALL of the ends are uneven. This effects me and my life greatly as I work part-time as a model and actor (in addition to my day job as a Marketing Exec). I had to cancel an audition tomorrow for a commercial Reebok is shooting in Boston next month because I do not have the time today to drive up to NH to have my hair fixed and frankly I am extremely embarrassed to show up to an audition with it looking this bad. I also feel extremely upset over the fact that I have to waste my hair getting it cut again to fix this mistake when all I really want to do is donate it to kids with cancer. The cost of a simple trim was $75 - this included a wash, "trim" and a blow-out.

Worst haircut ever, I am not picky but it was absolutely amazing how horrible my hair looked after leaving, it was unevenly cut and looked unbelievably ridiculous I would never recommend anyone going here. To top it off it was the ownere who cut my hair, two thumbs down, dont go here

I have never shopped here, but I always thought that the name was clever.
