No, No, No, -- TWO STARS -- For the shop ONLY! PLEASE DISREGARD THE REVIEW BELOW that I wrote a year ago -- at least concerning the barber I gave such high praise (3rd chair from the window). He turned out to be a phoney and a hypocrite. He was "Mr. Nice Guy" as long as you liked his haircut, but as soon as you made any critical comment or asked for any small correction or some kind of change...IT WAS ALL OVER! All of a sudden I was being told that he, "...didnt need some OLD MAN (Im 65) telling HIM how to cut hair." He also then announced that the kind of people he considered good customers were those, "...who just sat there, shut up, let him cut their hair, liked it, paid and left!" He rushed through finishing my haircut with the WORST cut I had gotten in some time and then finished by saying "If I didnt like it -- there were plenty of other barbers both there in the shop AND elsewhere." I had told myself I would be decent and not write this review retraction but changed my mind when I learned from someone else I know who goes to a different barber at the same shop that he was still talking about me to other customers weeks and weeks after that saying very negative things. If you want your hair cut by someone like that, then hes the one to go to!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Great Haircut and Barber I went there yesterday first time on recommendation of a friend whose haircut I liked. Got a friendly greeting when I walked in, asked for a flattop whiz and was pleasantly directed accordingly. My barber was fast, cheerful, and knew his business. The result was probably one of the best haircuts, let alone flattops, I have had in many years. I will DEFINITELY be going back and will probably even request the same barber -- unless I just want to test the skills of someone else. I recommend this place to any guy young or old looking for a great cut at a good price. BTW -- There were lady barbers there too if that is what one prefers!

Rescue Nut

You can tell a how a business owner feels about his customers by the way they present their place of business. Come in and see for yourself (outdated atmosphere ,water pouring thru ceiling, just a few of the highlights) "Just saying" all those years where did the money go ? Not a penny back into the business ! I went here for years but not for the building it was for the quality barbers now their all down the street at FORD ROAD BARBERS what a change night and day. Not sure what happen with Rex but glad it did thanks Rex ! Wish it would of happen sooner ! Ill never go back to Rexs barber shop again. Sorry if this review offends you but its how I feel, Your building just tells me you dont care about your customers and you only care about making money.

Used to love this shop, but all the old barbers left. I went in and was shocked to see strangers behind the chairs. I asked where Max is and received cold responses. One old guy getting his hair cut started yelling at me in a foreign language. Finally found my favorite Barber, Max at Ford Road Barbers on the Northeast corner of the Ford and Middle belt intersection. It is a nice, big shop that has received a remodel this century.

Been going there 25 years. Rex is retired now, but most of the guys have been there many years. The cut always looks good especially after the straight edge shave around the ears and neck. I moved 10 miles away, but after paying more money at a chain shop and getting a cut by a 20 year old girl, Ill make the trip to get a cut by an experienced barber at Rexs.

Place needs a total remodel. It has been the same since I was a Kid. The old Barbers moved on and opened there new shop FORD ROAD BARBERS On Ford and Middlebelt in Garden City. Bob , Mike , Max and the Guys Have a really nice place. New and fresh. Unlike this place that smells and is a building of code violations

I wandered into this place when I was looking for a new barber... 3 years later Im still here!! love this place! cool scenery, nice people, and sometimes the owner is around, and hes nice as can be! he cant cut anymore, but he loves his place!!! GO HERE!!! YOULL LOVE IT!!!!
