I was originally due to move on Friday, October 14th so I ordered a uhaul to be picked up. When I got the uhaul, I immediately went to Uncle Bobs. I arrived around 11am to shocked to find no one was there. At this point, I was there to pay my unit which was late, and get my unit unlocked. With no one being there, I frustratingly called the Uncle Bobs in Woodson. The representative told me hed get in touch with someone, and call me back. About 20 minutes later, he called and told me the store manager wouldnt be there until around 2pm. Knowing this wouldnt work with my schedule for that day, I was forced return the uhaul I didnt get to use, and pay the full balance. Michael DeBlasi, the store manager, did call me after Id returned the uhaul and I explain I returned it, and would be back to get my things on the following Monday. He agreed to pro-rate my balance, but at that time, Id already felt defeated for the day, and told him Id call back. When I call two weeks later on Friday, October 28th, I speak with Michael and asked him about the chance of arranging to use their store truck located at the Overland location. I told him Id pay the insurance, the gas, and my full late balance. In return, I didnt want to have to pay for the truck itself which was about $30 I believe because I feel some form of compensation is due. Michael proceeded to tell me he couldnt promise anything, but hed email his boss, Tom Bahlin. Michael asked if Id used the truck my first 14 days of move-in. I wasnt even aware that was an option! I told him to just email his boss, and call me back. He called the next day after Id decided to pay my full balance online, and said "I got a flat out no on that truck." I asked him what he could do for me, because you havent given me anything to work with. Michaels only excuse was he was there after 2pm. The biggest problem is there was no posting that someone would be in later, or anything that day. Only the sign with the office hours starting at 9am. I asked him for a corporate number, which he then proceeded to give me an 888 number, and told me to do it as if I were booking a new unit, otherwise Id be ready routed to him. I decided not to call to corporate office until this morning, October 31st around 10am. When I called, I was immediately greeted with "yes sir". I explained Im calling the corporate number HE gave me. Being sick of the circle, and lack of care I felt he put into my situation, I asked for a refund on my last months payment so I can at least be comfortable when I move as far as food and toiletries, because it doesnt seem as if Ill be able to get a truck quite yet. Michael told me he wouldnt be able to refund me because it was already overdue, and the payment already processed. I hadnt paid my unit even 24 hours ago. He says hes only a PR, I felt the need to correct him and let him know HEs the store manager. I then asked him for his bosses name and number. He tells me he doesnt have a contact number, but he can email him to call me, and gave me his name. He couldnt guarantee hed be able to call today, so I went on to explain the urgency of the situation. The mere lack of care I felt was overwhelming, so I informed him if he doesnt do more, Ill be reporting him. His end response was "report away." I told him just to be sure to email his boss. The disrespect, rudeness, and lack of courteousness for my situation and his own customer support was rather overwhelming. I even attempted going online and calling an (800) number that the Uncle Bobs on Woodson referred me to. I was sort of... discombobulated to find that that number also reroutes to the Uncle Bobs in Brentwood. Needless to say, Ill be moving all of my stuff from this storage place VERY soon, and I dont advice anyone store with these people since you cant get end results it seems. It would of been a different story about two months ago when a young lady worked there, but shes moved on, and the place has gone down.

I have been with Life Storage (formerly Uncle Bobs) for over a year mainly because they are exceptionally good at what they do. Michelle is and has been an excellent Manager and Super provider of Customer Service. I really appreciate that she clearly explains what and how things are done at Life Storage. Then she not only listens to what I say/ask she acts on what she hears or she responds with what can be done. I am very comfortable with keeping my belongings at Life Storage. I started with Mike as the Site Manager. He was very good and always helpful This is the first time I have had to have a storage unit. After visiting 3 different companies I found Uncle Bobs and Mike, To be understanding, very helpful and very friendly. Plus their on line access is excellent.

Staff were nice....but be aware that this storage site sits in a flood plain They dont disclose that to you at all when you set up a unit there. They also require you to have insurance on the unit, and offer to sell you one. Read the fine print on it, because it does NOT cover flood damage. So long story short...Sits in a flood plain, sells you insurance that doesnt cover floods. FInd somewhere else to store your stuff. To make matters worse, when the place DID flood, it took them a few days to notify customers that their belongings were flooded. Lost a lot of items in my unit that could have been salvaged had we been notified quickly about the flood instead of letting it sit wet for days, molding.

Uncle Bobs has very helpful & friendly staff! The set up was quick & easy. They placed a wooden pallet in my storage locker, so my belongings could be off the ground free of charge. When the company decided to change the locks on all the units, they did not charge the customers. Their 24-hour access made getting to my belongings very convenient. After a year of their service, I no longer needed a storage locker. The check-out process was also very quick & easy. I was very happy with their service & I would highly recommend them!

Dont take the Bader insurance. After the flood in August, we were told our policy would cover the damage. NOPE! The flood was poorly managed and most of our stuff was ruined by the time we could get into the unit. Aside from management telling us to file insurance claims when they should have know the policies they sold as part of the units would not cover anything, management also had us disposing of items incorrectly according to Bader. Very pricy.

Former employee. This place is deplorable. Refused to answer my phone calls pertaining to my paycheck, only calling me back once I went to corporate. I was told my check was mailed without giving me the option to pick it up, like I was told I could do, and here we are days later.... And I still dont have my check. The amount of time passed assures me that my check wasnt mailed the day the office manager said it was. This company is awful.
