Okay, So this Review is LONG over due, I will try to keep it brief. Originally I had met "Carlos" , an In the Cut Barber/Owner at their North Plainfield location, where i am currently from. That location was my local barbershop in town; previously i had been getting my haircut all the way out in Kearny NJ. Nervous as all hell and left wit no Options I decided to go for broke and give my local shop a chance. That day was the day that changed my life. From the time i sat in the chair i was treated as if i were a longtime friend of Carloss. He was Friendly, courteous, engaged, & attentive. Although my first initially two cuts all i did was fade the sides and get a line up (still afraid of the big chop) Carlos happily followed my requests to the tee, and executed with extreme skill and precision. After the second cut in that fashion, with the same quality of service, i felt comfortable enough to leave my hair in his hands & make him my permanent barber of choice. Then there was "THE BIG CHOP" I had been growing the top portion of my hair for some months leaving it unkept and untouched due to fear, it would be cut wouldnt be cut the way my old barber used to cut it. I felt like hed known my head shape/hair texture longer so hed had an advantage. So one day I built up the courage to show Carlos a picture of an idea i had for my hair, after debating the big chop for some time. Without even the Slightest of a hesitation he took ONE look for less than 30 seconds and said, "Oh, yeah I can do that". I was both bewildered and relieved at the same time. He was beyond confident. It seemed like such a complex request. Carlos took his time all throughout the cut; picking my hair, shaving my hair, snipping my hair and brushing it. All for an end result that would EXCEED my expectations. Hed truly gone above and beyond, taking my initial idea and customizing it so it compliment my specific hair texture and head shape. He had made the look totally mine. Id never told him, but after that cut, I had regained alot of the confidence Id previously lost, due to bad haircuts and not knowing what to do with my look. With this new cut Id felt the most myself, Id felt in a long time. It changed the way i viewed myself and carried myself from that day on. I felt cool, suave, and attractive and I owe it all to IN THE CUT Barbershop. I am currently a regular there, where i get my haircut every two weeks. The shop is always busy and although Carlos is my barber, Ive seen the other guys do equally good work on their clients, who are regulars as well. Between the quality service and professional expertise; I would HIGHLY recommend giving this shop a chance if you had been considering it. THANKS GUYS!!!

This place sucks they were doing my hair and in a rush they nipped my hair also he left a patch on the back of my head also dancing while he was doing my hair and left what looks like a bird wing on the back of my head DO NOT GO TO DO THIS PLACE!!

Guys are super laid back, funny, the ambiance is just perfect, laid back and casual. These guys have great style and they pour it into the freshest cuts. Definitely going back for my next haircut.
