Gym facility and equipment are good for the price. Very spacious inside with a good all around selection of machines and free weights, and the equipment is arranged sensibly for the most part. They do a good job maintaining the machines when things break. There are, however a good number of 45 lb. free weight plates that have lost most or all of their rubberized coating and should be replaced. They added a separate cushioned workout area with astroturf for free weights and other activities which was a nice addition. Problem is too many members with no gym etiquette during peak hours. I prefer coming in the mornings and afternoons and weekends are good too. Way too crowded after 6 pm like most places, and over the summer months was often too oppressively hot to workout. I spent more time toweling off sweat than anything else. The average member here is not a wrestler trying to make weight. The mens locker room and especially the shower stalls often have a funky smell. I caught a horrible bout of athletes foot here. Despite the demerits, this is still a good gym. Its the best Retro Ive been to so far. Tried the Manville gym and didnt like it at all. They need to work on keeping the showers more sanitary and keeping the gym at a reasonable temp. in the hot weather. 7/5/2017 This is a follow up to the original review. This continues to be a good gym overall especially for the cost. They seem to be doing a better job with keeping the Mens locker room cleaner. A few problems still remain...it is almost always inexcusably hot and uncomfortable at night since the warmer weather began. No air flow except for the ceiling fans, and theyre not enough unless you want to stand under one all night. Guys, how about a little A/C?? I always prefer going in the mornings...much more comfortable no matter what the outside temp. and far less crowded. Still a lot of 45 and 25 lb. plates shedding their rubber coating, become uncomfortable to handle, and possibly a safety hazard. Guys, is the gym not making enough $$ to replace them?? Other than that, they do a pretty good job...Ive upgraded their rating to four stars because its a good gym and I enjoy going there. 7/24/2017 Just want to thank the management for acknowledging my reviews. This is a very good gym with a well thought out floor plan. Ive noticed over time that there has been very little or no turnover among the staff, which tells me that they must enjoy working there.

Pros -Overall plenty of space to do your workouts. Cardio, weightlifting, or calisthenics, youll find room to do your workouts. -New turf strip that enables new interesting workouts, or just more space to do free weight exercises. -The layout of the gym equipment actually makes sense. -The regulars at this gym know what theyre doing. The people come to workout and workout hard. -Manager is always welcoming, and the staff members are in great shape, and dont mind giving advice. -The lighting makes you feel like youre in a gym, and not in a doctors office. Cons -Some obvious wear on current equipment. By this I mean quite a few of the weights have chips of rubber missing, and some grips are worn down. -Only one machine dedicated to calves (More of a personal critique) -Most of the staff you will find pleasant. But there are a few who could use some customer service training. This will become evident if you ever have a problem with your membership. My opinion: Love this gym. Compared to the one in Clark, this retro is outstanding. The staff is typically pleasant and do not overbear. The regulars are unique yet dedicated. A bit packed in the evening, but if a gym doesnt have this problem then it probably isnt worth going to. Would absolutely love to see some investment in the current worn down equipment.

For an average Joe like me, this gym suits me perfectly well. At this particular Retro, items are priced great and the staff is beyond amazing. Staff is always helpful and friendly. My wife and I love coming here. I mean, what else do you need in a gym? If youre some bougie person looking for a million amenities, go to the other gyms. They charge 2x and even 3x as much. I come to the gym to workout. Im not paying around $60 a month to hangout. This gym has everything you need to really focus on your goal to get fit. My monthly fee is perfect for me and they updated the gym, which made it bigger and adheres to even more of your needs. I would and have recommended people to come here, especially this particular Retro. Thank you Retro of Greenbrook. You guys rock!

I really like this Retro. I went here last year and didnt care for it smelt funky they have done a lot of work and have improved the workout areas love the big area in the back with the sleigh and other items. My only downfall or I would give this place a 5 star is the air. Its an old building with low ceilings its so hot in there I sweat very little and I am dripping when I leave here in the summer heat wave. I do like the Clark location as my #1 but its too far I just wish somehow they could figure a way to get better circulation or Greenbrook would be a 5 star. People are nice and members on for the most part are great they share machines unlike some retros nice class of members.

Awesome gym! The place is constantly updated with new equipment, very clean and helpful and knowledgeable staff. The manager Jared is very involved with the gym and often participates in training sessions and is there to help anyone with any questions or advice.

I joined because of a cool guy at the desk named John! In addition to seeking a gym, the place has a nicer vibe than many of the other facilities I look at. Looking forward to working out. Glorianna
