So happy that I discovered Anita at Beauty Design. For years Ive been going to trendy and expensive salons Paris > Boston > New York. In my mind, I equated paying a lot for a haircut with getting a good haircut. In reality, I didnt always get a great haircut, or even a good one. On to my review: Beauty Design is a neighborhood salon. Theyve recently updated the interior (something thats not reflected in the pics on google maps). I had a great experience with Anita. When I walked in, both hairdressers welcomed me with a cheery Hello! I asked for a 2" trim and Anita did a great job. My hair is wavy/curly but I also blow dry it straight from time to time in a bob. She explained how she was cutting the hair so that it wouldnt poof out when I wore it wavy. Ive since had a chance to style it straight and wavy on my own and it looks fantastic both ways. Its so nice to get a cut that still works for you after you leave the salon. Anita was a lot of fun to chat with and put forth some ideas as to why my hair was growing slowly - very helpful! The cut came to $35. Wow - really excellent quality...even at $70 it would have been a deal.

Ive been living in this neighborhood for 12 yrs and dont know why i didnt know about this hidden Gem. Ive been to many expensive salons in the city but this salon is right up there. Prices are reasonable and the quality and expertise is unquestionable. Anita the owner took me in early morning showed her a magazine cut out of what i wanted and she nailed it! Also fast knew exactly what she was doing confident and the products in the salon are all Aveda. I will definitely be back!

Love this salon. Ive been getting my hair done here for the past two years. I get my blond highlights done by Anita, she always does a fantastic job. Each time, my highlight come out amazing .I highly recommend this hair salon. Their prices are very affordable compared to other hair salons in the area.

I had a Brazilian Blowout at Beauty Design this morning and they did a wonderful job. Ive had this treatment many times in different locations and to get it just right takes attention and patience.
