For years Ive enjoyed watching people rush to the dance floor as the sounds of salsa, bachata, and merengue filled the room. I have taken a few pay as you go classes and free lessons at clubs, but no matter how much I watched, or lessons taken, I never had the courage to get beyond the basic and side step of salsa - and even that was a challenge. However, this all changed a few months back as my wife and I decided to take salsa lessons at Dance Fever Studio. Before knowing anything about the studio, we visited the Saturday social event, held twice each month. A free one hour class is given at the start of each event - which could comprise of two Latin dances taught in separate studios. On this visit, beginners salsa was held in the larger studio. Noelia, one of two senior instructors gave the lesson. She explained and broke down each of the basic techniques clearer than Ive ever been taught - to the point I was able to connect the steps to the musical counts. After the class was over, the social began and my wife and I were welcomed by the instructors, students and visitors. Everyone was encouraged to dance, practice, learn a new technique without pressure. At the end of the nightt we knew Dance Fever was the right school for us. For the past six months weve attended salsa classes on Tuesdays, taught by Francis or Noelia. Today, my wife and I are at the point that when the sounds of salsa, bachata, and merengue fills the room, we rush to the dance floor - and if I must say...look pretty good holding our own. The classes are of a good size in that you are able, and encouraged to ask questions. Thank you Francis and Noelia for your patiences, art of instructing, and building confidence. If you are still reading this review, I would think you are seriously considering learning one of the many Latin dances taught at Dance Fever. Just to name a few: salsa, bachata, cha cha, hustle, ballroom etc. You will not be disappointed, because as I said prior, the instructors are passionate about their art and love of the Latin dances, and I believe wants each student to feel the same. You will not be disappointed!

I dont think there is anything that scares me more than dancing. As to the reasons why, that is best left up to the diagnosis of a mental health professional. My wife has taken many classes at Dance Fever before we met and while we were dating. In preparation for the first dance at our wedding, the two of us took private lessons with Noelia. Noelia taught us to dance the Rumba together, not in a choreographed program, but really learning the dance. I had to have been the worst student ever with my nerves, kicking and screaming the whole time. Lets just say I didnt make it easy. Noelia was SO patient and always knew the best way to teach me something I was struggling with. Long story short, our first dance at our wedding was a hit and is immortalized in a gorgeous painting we had done during the reception. The entire staff as well as other students at Dance Fever are so friendly and warm. Id highly recommend Dance Fever to anyone interested in learning to dance or meeting other dance enthusiasts and dancing in a social setting. The instructors are top notch and prices are very reasonable compared to other studios Ive looked into. Give them a try and you wont regret it!

My soon to be husband and I are big fans of Dance Fever Studios out in South Slope Brooklyn. We have been working with Noelia for a number of months now--and have gone from pretty awkward and uncoordinated to pretty decent, if I do say so myself (which is saying a lot!) and have had a lot of fun and laughs in the process. Noelia is fantastic. Not only is she a talented dancer but she is a very good and patient teacher who brings just the right amount of lightheartedness and humor to our lessons. My groom-to be was initially very reluctant to take classes ("why do we have to do this? I already know how/like the way I dance?!")...but since starting lessons with Noelia a few months ago has changed his tune. We are both so grateful to now have the ability to dance together with more ease and confidence. Private lessons are not cheap--but as I told Noelia as I signed up for our second round of lessons, "Theyre worth every penny." These lessons feel like an investment in our future and all the fun times we hope to share dancing at celebrations with friends and family. Thanks Noelia, Franicis and Dance Fever Studios!

A great place to study Ballroom dancing, convenient class schedules and reasonable pricing. At Dance Fever Studios, the instructors are both knowledgeable and friendly. They will help you feel comfortable on the dance floor in no time. I’ve been attending Ballroom and hustle classes at this studio for almost 2 years now and it’s always been an absolute pleasure. The instructors sincerely want to help you to learn the routines by breaking down the patterns into understandable movements. Private classes help to polish the entire style to perfection. Personally, the most fun are the socials, dancing events held every other Saturday in Park Slope where you can practice what youve learned in class or learn something new by dancing with a more experienced dancer. Don’t be shy! Come to a free class...you will have a lot of fun! The atmosphere is super welcoming and friendly. This studio became my happy dancing place and probably will be yours too. Noelia is an absolutely amazing instructor! I give five stars for the atmosphere and the instructors.))))))))

When I first started taking Salsa lessons at Dance Fever Studios I was only there to spend time with some close friends. I had no interest in dancing what so ever. Fast forward to present day. I own dance shoes, Im about to finish a salsa dance cycle, I almost never miss a social and I am starting Hustle and Bachata this week. The teachers are incredibly talented and have a genuine passion for educating people in their craft. I found myself inspired in the care they took in teaching me the dance moves and in their constant motivation when I struggled with challenging steps. Class feels like a team effort and the socials feel like a communal celebration of an art form you will find yourself easily falling in love with. If you are reading this review I hope that you have come to the conclusion that there is no point in waiting. I am often told in class to the commit to the move and follow through. So if you have an impulse to give this a chance you should do the same.
