The salon here was bought out recently by a new guy who cleaned it up pretty nice and made it into a straightforward barber shop. So I gave it a try. Young guy running it, very friendly, trying his hand at his own place. I like that the guy actually knows how to cut hair, I mean he uses scissors. Shouldnt be strange to say that but the other barber shops Ive been to in the area only seem to use buzzers anymore. I leave them looking like a buzzed egg. Here I leave looking like I actually got a haircut. Place reminds me of the shops when I was younger. Last thought: he has one of those chrome metal bulbous things that always sat on the counter when I was a kid and I never knew what it was, never saw anyone use it. Has some coils on it, you know what Im talking about. Turns out its a shoulder massager. Did everyone know this? This guy actually uses the thing, clicks it on and runs it over your shoulders for a few seconds at the end of the cut. Would be almost worth the $13 just for that even if the cut was a mess, but the fact the cut has been really nice the times Ive been there makes the whole thing quality. Its the place now.

I grew up going to the Arcadian Barber Shop in Ossining, and had been a loyal customer of theirs for nearly 25 years. Anyone in the area knows the detail and professionalism that exists there. From Mike (God rest his soul) to Mario, Pat to John, you would always leave feeling confident you just received exactly what you went there for: a consistent, great haircut from guys with lifelong experience. Anyone thats moved away from a great barber shop knows how difficult it is to find a good one. The Dobbs Ferry Barbershop is hands down the best haircut experience in the area, and their finished products rival that of the aforementioned Arcadian Barber Shop. The shop is clean and organized. The haircuts are reasonably priced with an opportunity for a buyback with use of their business card. This place will not disappoint, and once you give them a shot, you assuredly will return.

I have been searching for a local non-salon priced haircutting shop for too many years. I have been going to a good shop on 98st which was on my way to Mount Sinai.I read the reviews and I agree with them. I received an excellent scissor cut by a woman barber. She is a Top notch Barber and i highly recommend this business No more needing a haircut look for me. I have found that almost all the non-salon barber shops use clippers only, and they really should be in the butcher business..

I just moved into the neighborhood and Ive been looking for a barber for my son and I. Its been a couple of weeks and was wondering if I had to go back to Queens just for a haircut. I took a chance and wasnt disappointed and neither was my 12 yr. old son. He cut my hair better than I expected. The attention to detail and the use of the razor was amazing. I left very satisfied and will be returning.

All my kids get their hair cut here and love it. They do what ever the kids ask for and even have a free hair cut after 10 cuts, with four boys it adds up. Prices are reasonable and always do a good job.
