Le Chambord was one of the final venues my fiance and I took a tour of. We had *lots* of issues with this place. The owner, the rooms, and the venue all offered their own unique problems. 1. The Owner: I went to tour this venue with my fiance and mother. The owner would not speak to them directly or even look them in the eye, he would only speak to me. When he was asked direct questions by my fiance or mother he answered very rudely. For example, when he told us that our wedding cake would be a pound cake. My fiance asked, "Are there other options besides poundcake?"Raising his voice to her he said, "Let me finish! There are 12 other options how do you like that!?" My mother was enjoying a closer look at their ballroom but the owner seemed to be in a rush to complete the tour. He paced around by the door and said to me, "I guess we will wait for *her* to join us" At the end of the tour he outlined how the event would occur. He was very rigid and unaccommodating saying things like "You will spend 7 minutes in this room, then take a 3 minute walk to this area where you will spend 35 minutes" This rigidity was very unappealing to us. He was also unwilling to adjust the menu telling us that his authentic European cuisine was best and that we would love it despite our hesitations. Reluctantly we inquired about a tasting and he told us we could not taste any food unless we put down a non refundable deposit. Wow! Finally he went over his prices (which were higher than all of the much nicer venues we looked at) and he told us that we should go with him because we clearly did not know what we were doing and would be taken advantage of. Well, needless to say we booked with another, nicer venue, which offered us much more for less. This guy clearly has a big problem with women. He even spoke disrespectfully to his waitress. The venue: Le Chambord is right off two highways and you can hear the traffic from both highways everywhere on the property. There is an overwhelming smell of mildew in every room of the venue. The tables are rickety, chairs uncomfortable, and waitstaff seems like theyd be more at home in a diner than a catering hall. Outdoor lights had broken glass panes and missing bulbs, walkways were cluttered and poorly maintained, there are only a few places to take photos because the highway is in view. Imagine saying your vows and hearing a tractor trailer blare by? No thanks. The rooms: filled with antique furniture so if that is your thing you are in luck. However, like the venue itself these rooms reek of mildew. This stench is poorly concealed by an overwhelming air freshener that smells like strong, cheap perfume. OH! AND IF YOU DONT BOOK ALL THE ROOMS HE RENTS THEM OUT TO STRANGERS WHO BECOME A DEFACTO PART OF YOUR WEDDING! One last note...he prepares your dinner a week in advanced. Disgusting.

I thought about writing this review since I visited this place for Thanksgiving. I decided that for the sake of others I MUST do it. It is an utterly AWFUL place. We reserved a table in the actual Dining Room, not at the all-you-can-eat "buffet". The room brought long forgotten memories of communistic restaurants in remote corners of some Eastern European country. Dirty carpets, bombastic copies of paintings in even more bombastic frames, fireplace without fire, table settings in dingy white and in style of a Trans-Siberian railway station from the 50ties, dingy light, dirty windows and the obligatory half-dead plants of some kind in dirty pots. PLUS dollar-store-style tea lights in small dollar-store-style glass containers....which have been apparently saved for later, hence unlit. The food was indescribably bad: gluey sauces, mushy tomatoes, and the pinnacle of ALL: the turkey dinner plate. It consisted of greyish, dry slices of turkey, an entangled dark orange mass of some kind, which I think was a handful of glued together, formerly frozen sweet potatoes which have been fried in a frozen ball, as they came from the package, and stuck together, and a mass of additional THINGS, which we could not recognize, except for one. Cheap canned chestnuts, without any taste. Actually nothing tasted like food supposed to taste, it could be a dog food actually. It was cold too. The onion soup was clearly a masterpiece of dormitory-style cooking skills. Watery brown substance (package?) with the obligatory hard shell of cheap cheese on the top, tasteless and unpleasant to look at. By the way...we got a basket of "fresh" rolls too. They all looked like formerly frozen, ready made rolls and tasted accordingly to their appearance. Yeasty, grey mass, hardly backed in an oven. The place was cold and unpleasant. We all have been very hungry and we all eat a little of everything and left. It was a very sad Thanksgiving. I traveled to many countries and I visited hundreds of restaurants across the globe, but this place was the worst culinary mistake I ever made, just because I trusted the great pictures and info on Internet. Never again! This place doesnt deserve to have ANY stars, I would like to award them with a broom, a mob and a cookbook.

As much as i would like to rate this higher, i simply cannot overlook some very glaring flaws of the venue. My brother had his wedding here, and for the most part the food was good and the people were nice, but the "inn" portion where i just finished spending two nights was simply unacceptable. The entire building wreaked of mildew and calling the rooms outdated is a severe understatement. Our first room was so bad we made them swap us to another. While it was better, it wasnt much better. If i wasnt there for my brothers wedding i would have left. Besides the very strong mildew smell (worse than most old basements), the rooms do not appear to have been updated in at least 40 years. The mattresses and pull out couch likely are as old. The pull out couch for my son was so bad springs were coming through the bed. The pillows were rock hard and smelled so much that we had to go out and buy our own. My advice, if youre looking to have your wedding here advise your guests to stay elsewhere. The wedding itself was nice, but do not stay in the "inn".

I booked a wedding on May 01st of 2011. My ex fiance and I broke up a week later, and called Roy to cancel the wedding. The wedding was scheduled for May 25 2012. I know the policy said non refundable for the deposit, but I gave him a year in advance to find someone to fill that spot. Any owner with a decent heart would refund that money. Roy told me that if someone booked it he would give me 75 percent back. This has been hard as I have struggled to keep a job and need that money. The deposit was 2500 dollars. I would take 1500 back willingly. It is really unfortunate that business owners like Roy exist. He is complete scum. He is keeping my 2500 dollars and I am getting nothing in return. I can see if it would have been a couple months that we had cancelled, but it was a whole year. I feel robbed

We attended for a friends wedding reception. The location is easily accessible by main roads but is situated nicely away from traffic, offering some privacy for events. The buildings are old and are rather tight, even the event spaces. The site itself has three main buildings so there was a bit of walking required to get from the cocktail hour location in the far back building to the actual reception location in the front. The food at the cocktail hour was plentiful, but nothing spectacular. The pacing of the food service during the reception was a little off - we found that we were always waiting on the next course or were missing something (i.e served bread then the butter was brought out after the first course). Overall, it was a perfectly average wedding venue.
