Where do I begin?! My journey began on a Saturday and I went in for a flexi rod set. The style did not come out as I expected or wanted and because I was the last customer and my stylist had an engagement after work, my hair didnt dry properly and I felt rushed. Well, this stylist was a visiting stylist and didnt actually work there. She didnt do a bad job but I did feel rushed because my hair was still wet and it didnt come out the way I wanted it to. Youre probably wondering why I left 5 stars, right?! Keep reading. I called the shop early Sunday and explained my situation to the receptionist and she apologized and set me up for an appointment on Sunday with Casey. Now, I had scoped out Caseys work when I had come in on Saturday...the clients hair looked beautiful. Casey began my hair process and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way (Im 8 months pregnant btw). He even went out and bought me a huge bottle of water while I was sitting under the dryer, without me asking, so I wouldnt overheat! That was an act of kindness already. He tried another attempt on the flexi rod set and I didnt even have to say anything because it wasnt up to HIS STANDARDS and he voiced it. My hair is very difficult to curl and this could have contributed to the problem. At around 11:30-12am...Casey said, "Im not feeling this...what would you like to do?" My mother who had been there with me suggested a silk press. I agreed but thought I would come back in on Monday to get it done being that it was so late already and I knew the stylists had to get home to be up the next day and Im sure they were exhausted. To my surprise Casey responded with, "OK, LETS GO!" Long story short, Casey rewashed, blowed, and styled my hair without a complaint! He made me feel so comfortable and needless to say he SLAYED my hair!!! I was in AWE!! I literally could not stop flipping my hair! He and another stylist, Jazzy B, did not leave the shop until after 4AM because they were fixing other stylists mistakes. Caseys main concern was my satisfaction and happiness. I honestly felt like I was among family at that point and Caseys dedication exemplified going ABOVE and BEYOND for the customer. This truly speaks volumes about him as an individual and made my experience at Natural Sisters Hair Salon a memorable one. Because of CASEY and the willingness to rectify the situation, I will definitely be returing and recommending my people. THANK YOU SOOOOO SO MUCH CASEY! YOUR WORK AND LEVEL OF PROFESSIONALISM SURPASSED MY EXPECTATIONS!!

Perfection! The google reviews did not lie. I visited their beautiful website, but was unable to schedule an appointment, so I called last Monday and was scheduled for Friday after work. The small salon had a home feel upon arrival. I checked in on time and was politely greeted by my stylist Meka who told me to have a seat. She took care of me within 5 minutes and listened, without judgement, as I told her I needed a trim and wanted to leave styled, but in the past my stubborn afro would revert as soon as I left a salon. She happily consented to silk press my hair instead of the perm rods I was booked for, and gently suggested I deep-condition, which was THE TRUTH! She sat me under the steamer for 15 minutes and it made my blowout so quick and easy, like I went from having hair to strands of clouds on my head! I was impressed that she asked me if I had any scalp conditions when I got a shampoo, which took away the usual awkwardness whenever I have to explain that I have psoriasis and need to use medicinal shampoos 2-3 times a week. She scrubbed the heck out of my scalp with some beautifully -scented herbal products that made my steam treatment seem like a day at the spa. After a humid weekend at cookouts and walking in the rain, my hair is still sleek and my scalp feels great! My hair has no split ends! And I left feeling proud of my hair instead of feeling like my thick afro and psoriasis was too much to handle. In fact, I received a few kind words of praise from other stylists and patrons. I finally found a place where my hair type is accepted and will be handled by experts. I recommend detangling prior to coming (they posted a charge for $15 on their website for detangling). Meka seemed happy that I did this with only conditioner and water, as she didnt have to remove excessive product from my hair. I was in and out in under 2 hours :)

Had an 8 A.M appointment. My stylist Natasha was awesome. She was extremely friendly and professional. She talked me through EVERYTHING that she was going to do withy hair. I was truly pleases withy experience with her especially since it was my first experience with this salon. I received a wash, protein treatment, and a really good trim on my hair. After that I was sent downstairs for hair braiding. This is when the problem started. They give you a sheet that shows different lengths of braids. Like shoulder length, bra strap length, waste, etc. As youre choosing the length that you want the price goes up another $20! Then you have to pay $20 for the hair after you choose the length that you want. I was choosing to have box braids done in my hair. The website clearly stated $100 for box braids. It never read $20 extra for every extra inches of braids that you want. Finally she started braiding my hair since I agreed to pay the extra $40 for the length and the $20 for the hair which has now brought the coat up from the original $100 to $160! I didnt like the size of the braids. So I asked to have them done smaller. The stylist points to see me FINE print on the same sheet of paper with the lengths. It read $40 extra for medium braids and $80 extra for small braids. At this point Im livid! So now the cost of my braids has risen from $100 to either $200 or $240! What an epic rip off! I kindly asked her to remove the 2 braids from my hair bc I wasnt going to pay those ridiculous prices. She proceeded to tell me that no one has ever left and that I was already in the system. I kindly asked her to remove them and I got up and left. I would definitely recommend this salon for everything else but braids. I dont like being ripped off. I will always pay for good service though.

This is not the place to go for an experienced hair stylist. Do not be deceived! The hair stylists are not professionals. They have issues with booking and professionalism. The braids are done downstairs by other stylists. The braids I saw looked good and I thought, "maybe I should have gotten braids." The stlye floor is very cramped. There is literally not very much work space. The are very poor managed as there were ceiling lights out and dust behind the dryers. The ceiling fans must not have been working either, because the receptionist opened the door to let air in because she was hot. (In the WINTER!) Although Egypt is a nice guy, he wasnt very knowledgeable about the different types of hair for weaving and style up keep. He never offered me a mirror when he finished my hair! I left the remaining amount of hair that I didnt use, which, looked like a half of bundle and he didnt even bother to make sure if I wanted it or not. I didnt get a call saying that, I had some hair left and did I want to come back and get it, either. There are a lot of reviews on this place, some are very discouraging. After my experience here, I can see where some of them might be true! They hang your coat in a community closet and you can pick your coat up or they hand it to you when you leave. One review said, that her purse was stolen", well it may have been! This place is constantly flowing with people from clients to staff AND EVEN PEDDLERS! They just walk in off of the street! Some of them dirty, smelly and nasty. Im was surprised at this, as most places have peddlers be approved by the owner. I am a certified public critic. So manager, get your A game up and its off to 3 stars you go!
