To even see the place you have to fill out a form on a electronic screen that asks you for your name, address, phone number, email, then how you heard of them, what you want from the facility, what kind of exercise and goals you have, what classes you might take. No one will even talk with you without all this informaiton in advance. This is an annoying way to handle customers, making the customer feel like a supplicant before he can even see the place and hear what they have to offer. From the looks of the size of the place, it probably doesnt offer many choices or much in the way of equipment and services. The person at the front desk and a few other staff people who showed up while I was going through the onerous form were lackadaisical and bored. There were balloons outside and ads for discounts. But I dont think I would join if the membership were only the lowest in town because I dont think I would ever feel like a valued customer.

This is by far one of the worst gyms in NYC. I left this gym 2 years ago because of the disgusting conditions in the locker room. I stopped by recently because I was in a pinch and couldnt get to my normal gym -- they wanted to charge me $30 for the day but wouldnt/cant make change for two $20s because they dont take cash. Small wonder this gym is going under. Theyre loosing members left and right because of the poor facility and when someone is actually willing to pay a ridiculous amount to work out for an hour, they wont even take the money. Idiots.

I go to NYSC mostly because its fairly affordable and I can take classes at multiple locations. However, I know its not the best customer service... to say the least. However, this is the best location Ive been to by a landslide. They have hired some new staff over the last few months as well as making improvements to the club itself and its helped a lot. Louis (one of the new managers) is amazing, as is Jackie the girl at the front desk. Go to this one.

New York Sports Club is not as up market as some other New York gym chains, but they offer all the basics you could want from a gym: full range of equipment, towels, soaps/shampoos, lockers, classes. So for half the price of other gym chains, Im in.

Very large gym. Weights are on the third floor, so you take a workout to get up there from the basement change rooms. Like other NYSC the machines are older, but they all work and theres plenty of them. Friendly crowd and was clean and tidy.

I enjoy the gym. It is clean. I love TJs and Craigs spin classes. Many of the members greet you. I do not find that warmth @ the others. The staff are very welcoming and will assist you.

Not the cleanest gym, but has everything you need. Its not as fancy as some other NYSC, so I feel like its less crowded. Total bonus since you normally dont have to wait for a machine.

Love their Sunday hours. Best out there hands down. Gym is divided into several floors and oddly one of the few locations without a steam room or sauna

One of the best NYSCs hands down. Great staff, great equipment and nice members. A lot of them but doesnt feel over crowded.

Fairly clean, good hours, not overly crowded. They also have some good dance classes here.
