Rude and Very unprofessional. I am a high school student applying for college, I had to send in my cuny fee waiver. The cuny fee waiver had the address on the sheet (which I use to put on the envelope). So when I went the front desk, one decent (asian) employee told me I need the zip code, and asked this other (black) lady, if she could still send it out. The black lady was yelling that I couldnt. However, the asian lady was going to look up the zip code for me on the computer, yet, the black lady yelled "SHE HAS TO FIND IT HERSELF!" and stopped the asian lady from searching it. That was unnecessary and unfair. As if this wasnt bad enough, I decided to call a friend to ask if she knew the zip code, while calling, this fat black security guard came up to us YELLING that we had to leave and ORDERING US AROUND, he yelled "IF YOURE GOING TO SEND SOMETHING OUT, GO TO THE DESK NOW!!!" because it was closing time. I understand that you have to close, but it was not necessary for him to yell. Another post office I went to, they are eligible to search the address, which makes me wish I went there because I would have gotten the zip code there. These employees do not deserve a job like this, they are not fitted for this job and theyre very disrespectful. It is as if they were hired not by their profession but by their ethnicity. No wonder no one wants to go here. I hope they change most of the staff soon.

It is astonishing how bad this post office is. Ive lived here for five years and probably have more problem deliveries than successful deliveries. While there are a few nice employees who do their best to help you, sometimes theres only so much they can do, because the overall organizational incompetence here is astounding. Some examples are: - Returned my bridesmaid dresses for my wedding to sender IN CROATIA immediately the same day they arrived for no reason. They apologized and admitted it was an error, but it meant the package had to go through customs two more times (there and back) over many weeks. Good thing I ordered them well enough in advance. - Never gave me any delivery slips to let me know a package had arrived, and by the time I tracked down the tracking number from the original sender, they had already returned the package to sender. - When I submitted an online redelivery request another time, it did not arrive when requested. A week later they finally noticed the online redelivery request and said we just needed to call instead the day before to request redelivery. - Lets not forget the occasional hour+ waits and inexplicably slow service to pick up packages in person. Like I said, there are plenty of nice, competent people working at this post office, but overall they clearly need to fix something so that it functions the way its supposed to.

WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. I ORDER STUFF ONLINE AND SOME OF THEM ARE SMALL ITEMS WHERE IT CANT FIT MY MAILBOX BUT ITS LIGHT TO CARRY, MAIL WOMAN REFUSE TO BRING UP MY "LIGHT" PACKAGE UP TO MY APT BECAUSE MY BUILDING DONT HAVE AN ELEVATOR. NOT ONLY THAT BUT SHE DONT EVEN BOTHER RINGING MY BUZZER AND WHEN SHE DO RING MY BUZZER, SHE WANTS ME TO GO DOWNSTAIRS AND PICK UP MY PACKAGE INSTEAD OF HER DOING HER JOB AND BRINGING IT UPSTAIRS TO ME. SO IF IM SICK AND I CANT HARDLY GET OUT OF BED, DOES THAT MEAN I HAVE TO GO DOWNSTAIRS AND PICK UP MY PACKAGE BECAUSE SHE DONT FEEL LIKE GOING UP THE STAIRS??? THIS HAS TO BE TAKING CARE OF IMMEDIATELY. I CANT BE HAVING A MAIL WOMAN DOING HALF A** JOB AND MAKING PEOPLE COME DOWN STAIRS TO PICK UP THEIR OWN PACKAGE KNOWING THAT ITS EXTREMELY LIGHT TO CARRY. AND WITH THE ACTUAL POST OFFICE, THEY ALL ARE RUDE WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS . THEY ANSWER YOU WITH AN ATTITUDE, ITS LIKE THEY HATE LIFE FOR SOME REASON. I UNDERSTAND SOME CUSTOMERS ARE RUDE TOO BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT ON SOME ONE ELSE. TRUST ME I DELT WITH CUSTOMERS BEFORE BUT IM PROFESSIONAL ABOUT IT. THEY NEED TO FIRE EVERYONE IN THAT POST OFFICE, THEIRS ONLY 2 WOMEN THAT ARE VERY NICE TO PEOPLE EVERYDAY I DONT KNOW THEIR NAMES BUT I KNOW THEY ARE FROM A INDIAN DESCENT. YOU GUYS NEED TO HANDLE THIS ASAP!!!!

I got a call from my current local post office on Broadway (Astoria, 11106) pertaining to a recent email inquiry that I submitted about my package. The package was misdirected on my behalf and was forwarded to my address near the Manhattanville center that I am not currently residing in for the summer. I was wondering what my options were in obtaining my package. The caller told me I could have Manhattanville simply forward the mail to the Broadway location. So I called Manhattanville and after 5 calls, a lady picked up. Her tone was clearly agitated from the start and after my explanation for my call, she immediately told me everything I heard was wrong while subtly accusing me of trying to scam them out of my own mail. She explained my only option was submitting a request to change my address and smugly agreed with me in that my situation was hopeless because by the time the request went through, they would have sent the mail back to the sender. I was fine with that but despite my relatively calm demeanor in defending my call, her voice continually grew and became more aggravated. After making my finishing statement in that I simply called to ask about what I had been told, she hung up in an aggressive manner. I definitely do not look forward to having to travel up to that location later this week and deal with her in person.

Heres a tip for anyone missing any packages. I just got off the phone with consumer affairs and just learned that any package over 5lbs and up are dealt with a separate parcel location. So my suggestion is calling consumer affairs giving them your tracking number and from there they are able to locate your package and call the supervisor of the packages location directly which is NOT at the postal office. And than they confirm that they have the parcel within their facility and ask when is a good time for the package to get re-delivered (All of this happens while your on three way so you know you are getting liable honest information). Now I wish this was something that they would elaborate on in the postal office which would save soooo much of the customers time, energy and money. Which eventually results in distasteful customer service turning into a bad customer review and than unenthusiastic postal workers. All that this location is lacking is clear and concise communication. I hope this review helps any one reading and that this gets shed light on.

Wow, what an awful experience. I would rate this 0 if I had the option to. I would compare going to this post office like going to the DMV or going to get teeth pulled. On a Saturday afternoon (which is expected to be a busy time) they had one person manning the package pickup line. She was slow, unhelpful, and overall very unpleasant. Also, she took about 20-25 minutes just to grab two packages for two separate customers. PLEASE do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. I was unable to pick up my package even though they had it on site. Now I have to wait for them to deliver it to me and I dont trust them to get that right. The attendant was disrespectful and non-responsive to questions. I will not be returning and will spend the extra money to ship through other services. Finally, dont expect to apply for a passport in a timely manner. When I was there, they had a 3 hour wait!
