IF you are a person of color and expect to be treated "on par" stay away from here. Long story short - the teacher makes birthday girls "feel special" by giving her a tiara etc .. you know the drill. Well our daughter went up and told the teacher a couple classes leading up to the birthday day AND on her birthday that she was "a birthday girl" .. eagerly expecting to get the birthday treat that all others get. Well that was not the case - and a couple weeks AFTER the birthday was over I asked the teacher why and her curt answer was "I thought she was lying". Irony is that the day my daughter shared her birthday and was hoping to get the schools celebration etc they chose to celebrate the birthday of another girl whose birthday was not coming up for another SEVEN months.. this was one incident but there were numerous cases where the treatment was very different.. ex. emails that they inadvertently missed sending, not including us in polls re class change dates etc.. the list is long. So long story short - IF you are a person of color STAY AWAY.

Jami Masters School of Dance is the best and most technically well-rounded dance studio around. The atmosphere is that of a family and you will always feel like you belong when dancing at Jamis. It is truly a sanctuary with a highly experienced staff that is always willing to accomodate any special needs. They run the studio for the love of dance and all business is run honestly. The environment is not centered on competition like most other dance studios. Basically, JMSD is the BEST of the BEST!

Very good studio for the non-competition dance student. Studio focuses on technique and has "Company" classes for the more advanced students. There are performance opportunities with the "Happy Holiday show and the yearly recital. Several dancers performed last year in the UNCSA Festival of Dance this year in Winston Salem. The teachers are not only friendly and knowledgeable but also have college degrees in the arts.

Jami Masters School of Dance is a cheerful, welcoming studio with top-notch staff. All three of my daughters have attended classes and camps and had wonderful experiences. Ms. Masters is always very gracious and helpful each time I have come in contact with her. My daughters teachers have advanced degrees in dance performance and are always smiling and energetic. This is a great studio!
