Clifton Barbers is under new ownership. (Finally!) Cody and the guys remodeled the shop themselves. From the beautiful mint-green walls to the still-functional antique cash register, the place reflects the staff’s dedication. Cody’s shop is a rare-find in Cincinnati, and he couldn’t be in a better location. He’s classically trained with a modern sense. Whether it’s a professional looking classic, or a more stylish cut, Cody’s going to make your hair look good. Listening to the guys talk about how a quality hair cut takes time and how much effort they’ve all put into their trade made me feel comfortable. I sat down in the chair confident that I’d get the exact haircut I wanted, and I stood up satisfied.

The location had been called Dans Barbershop for years, however, due to health issues, Dan retired. The young men that make up Clifton Barbers came in, redid the place and the rest is history. It is wonderful with a retro 50s look. Their service is great! Theyve been busy every time that Ive been (certainly a good sign for any business). They seem to do every haircut with the same care and attention (once again, a wonderful flashback to yesterday). Words of caution though: Theyre a pretty busy shop. Though no appointments are necessary, and I believe they are cash only. Which is fine by me; I like to give the plastic a rest. Wonderful barbershop and very competent barbers running it.

Not sure who has cut my hair both times but the taller lanky guy with the slick hair is my dude. I just told him longer on top, I part it here and I like short sides. That was it. And he did a fantastic job, perfect length, easy to syle and grew in well. It might be a bad business idea for them though since I can now go 2 months without a cut now instead of the usual 1. But I love that place, it is completely different than the old management and if you are a Cliftonite dont shy away. It is a whole new ball game now.

I have been going to this shop since I moved to Cincinnati a few years ago. From a mans point of view, they give consistently good cuts for a reasonable price, and you get all the neighborhood news to boot. All you have to do is tell them what you want and they will do everything they can to get it right. Dan and Susan are great, and while I have seen Dan get a gruff with customers before, it is only because of the customers inability to communicate. This is a real barber shop, not some pretty-boy salon!

Stopped in today and had to initiate conversation for any of the people working to acknowledge me. After asking whether theyd be closing at the posted time since it was getting close they said they would be open an hour later and then just ignored me. Didnt bother to even say whether they could fit me in after the people waiting or not. Decided to just leave and considered stopping in at CVS to purchase something so I could experience some kind of customer service.

I have been a loyal customer for four years. Dan have provided excellent service for many years. However, he suddenly snapped one day and kicked out all his customers while telling us to f out. I tried coming back again and he kicked me out of his store for asking about his work schedule/availability. I am not sure if he is mentally stable and I hope he gets some help before he loses his business. He was my favorite barber ;(

Came in and saw Blake on Wednesday, he provided me with quite possibly the best haircut I have received in years. He listened and provided me with the exact cut and style I wanted. The atmosphere in the shop is great and all of the other barbers are extremely friendly, personable and professional. I will recommend Blake and his fellow barbers to all of my friends.

Horrible experience. I went in to get a haircut and he tried telling me what i wanted. At the end of it all, he messed up my haircut so i asked him to just buzz my hair. At that point, he was upset that i didnt like his haircut. Than it was time to pay and he told me it was 15.50 for a messed up haircut. And than he told me to leave and not come back. Very rude!!

The barber asked me what I wanted and I showed him a picture on my cell phone. He talked a lot, but he was very nice to me. I really liked my haircut and I will definitely go there again for another cut.

Great barbershop. Travel a lot and finding a true barbershop that meets my needs are rare. This is one of those shops. Every time Im in Cincy and need an old school haircut, this is the place.
