If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The barber/owner Gary was the most outwardly racist man I have ever encountered. My boyfriend, who is Puerto Rican, came to his shop as a first time customer. When he called Gary "sir" he asked whether he was in prison or the military, assuming he had been in prison. He continued asking questions such as " how many kids do you have" " is she your sugar mama" " "do you have a job".... all not in a normal inquisitive way, but in a more judgmental/assuming way. He continued to talk derogatorily about Puerto Ricans the entire time he cut his hair, even referring to a time he went to Puerto Rico. Said he would never go again because "those people are too crazy". When he ran out of things to say about Puerto Ricans he began talking derogatorily about Cubans, Mexicans and African Americans. The entire experience was uncomfortable, humiliating, and offensive to both me and my boyfriend. I never thought that such a small minded person could exist and have an establishment in a city like Columbus, Ohio. I am saddened and hope no one else has to endure the disgusting treatment that Gary gave to my boyfriend and I today.

I have been coming to Clintonville Barber Shop since Gary started there. i drive from the east end. No question that he is the best barber in town. I enjoy how he has created a relaxing , enjoyable atmosphere . Gary takes good care of his customers and they soon become friends. I have known him to visit elderly customers who are to ill to get a hair cut and take care of them. He is a class guy who will always get my business. he has become more than just the neighborhood barber, he is a friend. If you are looking for a great barber, look no further.

Living in Clintonville, there are quite a few barber shops to choose from. Ive tried Santarellis and Longview, but I either didnt feel like I fit in or the cut just wasnt very good, respectively. I decided to give CBS a try and Im so glad I did. I was lucky and didnt need to wait and, although I had never been there before, I was warmly welcomed. Gary was personable, funny and knew exactly what he was doing. This is the only place Ill be going from now on.

Been coming to Gary for 7 years now and best prices & atmosphere in Columbus. Only barber in town where my 3 year old isnt bothered by clippers and scissors. Highly recommend this barber!
