I read the first review and it almost deterred me from getting my hair done there. Glad I did not let that happen.. I am a woman who wants to start fresh with my natural hair, (no more relaxers for me) :) What I liked about the whole experience was it felt very comfortable to be there. I loved the way the place was set up in terms of the color scheme, and those were THE BEST barber chairs I have ever seen in my LIFE! Tony, the man who worked with me, was excellent with the consultation, and even gave me suggestions, since I was unsure of what I wanted in a shaved style. He was very professional in his approach, which I did appreciate. The outcome of his final art was perfect, because he knew how to style my hair to the shape of my head and face! I could tell that he was very good with cleaning after each client, because I saw no hair anywhere around the chair or the floor before I sat down. All in all, the whole establishment seems down to earth and friendly. I, at first, judged the place by the location, ( It just seemed plain looking on the outside of the building) but as soon as I entered this barber shop, I knew I found a diamond in the rough! This was a very pleasant experience, and as my hair continues to grow I look forward to getting my twists, and locks started there as well :)

I went here and got a haircut and shave. The haircut was decent, but the shave was terrible. My face and neck were red and irritated for days, and the shave was not nearly as close as when I shave myself. When I asked to be refunded for the shave they refused and said that I just had sensitive skin. Also, the guy in the chair next to me left bleeding. Overall it was an all around painful experience, I should have saved my money and shaved myself.

Its not just a barbershop its a place where you can be a brother and express who and what you feel without judgement. I think he presents a lot more of his wisdom and spirituality through his shop and it makes me feel welcome. Hes a professional and personal person who is big developing friendships and not just clients.

I have going to Olde Sokol for at least 5 yrs!!! Tony has the best service. He is consistent in meetings the customers needs. I cant say that about other barbers in Columbus.
