BEWARE MOMS AND DADS OF STARR DANCE STUDIO!! (LONG VENT) I hate doing this over social media or making it public its a small business and I want to support small businesses and owners but when they are being dishonest then I would rather others know about it then to get put in the same situation as me. Lauren started attending a Tuesday 10am Class $40.00 per month for a 30 minute class each month with a $40.00 annual registration fee. First month (October) it was off to a rough start when it came to their bookkeeping I was told it would cost $29.00 for the first month for a trial because they did not offer one free trial class they suggested a month to see how she would warm up to it. Well on her first day they told us the wrong time so we arrived what we thought would be 15 minutes early but it was late. The teacher had no idea how much to charge etc. and i was confused so I just paid the registration fee anyways knowing we would be staying and 30.00 she charged so I assumed she was just off 1.00 no big deal. We learned on the first class in November she will be able to do a recital of course we had to pay for her costume, tights, and for her to be in the recital and three tickets for Justin, me , and Kyler. a Total cost of $56.00 She attended the month of November and one class in the month of December and performed two nights in the recital. there was no class the week of Christmas which is totally understandable. Then we get a call Monday night the day before class was suppose to start up again stating they had got rid of the class all together. Anna the lady who called stated they will make it right and i will be refunded the registration fee and for the remainder of December and i would not be charged for January if they can not figure out a new class time that will work for my family.... I emailed the owner Serinty, to find out if it has been figured out I get a response stating they are trying to work it out and most likely it will be wed. morning and she will let me know that night or the following day. She never touched base with me again. I then find out I was charged the $40.00 on top of a $31.00 Overdraft fee (due to it coming out from our account I only transfer enough funds into for expected bills, so my fault for trusting I was not going to be charged that 40.00 and I have learned my lesson we are keeping extra $$ in it at all times now for reasons like this). I then emailed her and no response I attempt to call a couple days later and leave a voice mail no response. I attempted to call today and the voice mail is no longer set up.. I continued to call just in case someone picked up. Which again Anna picked up, she then informed me I will not be getting a refund for the registration fee and the owner Serinty mailed a refund just for $40.00 yesterday. I understand registration fees cannot be refunded if you choose to leave the studio I did not choose to leave the studio they canceled my daughters class all together and did not offer a replacement class.

I usually dont write reviews, but I needed to share our experience for those people looking for a new place for toddlers. I was looking for something new for my daughter. Before we made the year long commitment I signed up for a month trial. I am so glad I did it this way. The first day we came to class my daughter was so excited. The instructor Ms. Serenity was so rude when she came out to get her, didnt say hi and didnt even introduce herself to my daughter. She just asked me who she was and took her in. They didnt tell me what shoes to put on her jazz or tap. It was an assumption that I knew. I made a mistake and then was frown at. The kids came out halfway through the class and I had no idea why. The instructor again didnt say anything, she stayed in the room. A parent instead informed me that I needed to switch the shoes. The following week we had to drag my daughter to class because she said the teacher was mean. My husband took her and he was greeted coldly. She asked who he was and said he was my daughters father. The instructors response, "oh yeah, shes just on a trail." Then she left. We didnt even finish our month because we were so disgusted with this place. Horrible service.

Just participated in a recital with this studio. What a joke. She (Serenity/Owner) is expensive, she is terrible at teaching routines, kids all watch her at the side of the stage during performance instead of being confident, looking into audience. None know what they are doing. Serenity, danced the two longest performances herself, I believe this recital was for her, not the kids. She watches herself more in the mirror in studio, than the kids. She is a very repetitious choreographer as well. Andee however is great with the kids, is a wonderful dancer. But I watch how Serenity looks and talks to her staff, like she is irritated and put out. Clearly thinks she is better than she is. Needless to say, None of the parents I have spoken to, will be returning to this teacher/studio. The kids looked adorable, but that didnt make up for the lousy instruction in dance. She clearly made money hand over fist. So please do your research and go elsewhere for dance instruction!! On her website there are testamonials" I believe she wrote them herself, since we were the first "recital" she had. Oh and beware, she keeps your credit/debit cards on file!!

Starr Studios is my home. I have been here since the begging, and I will be here till the end. Serenity- owner and my current dance teacher is honestly one of the most generous people I have ever met. She has never let anything- skill, money, or availability get in the way of any person wanting to dance. She teaches not only how to be better dancer, but a better human being over all. She has also given me the opportunity of a life time by giving me an internship. I have the opportunity to work with all of the the amazing staff, and learning how to better my skills in the dance and business world. I dont believe there is a better place in the world to learn and be taught. I couldnt find a better group of people to work under. Starr Studios isnt just a dance studio; it’s a home away from home, a family. There isnt a single place in the world I would rather spend my time. It is worth every second you spend there.

We love Starr Studios. The teachers are friendly and truly care about the improvement of their students. Miss.Serenity is dedicated and puts in so much time, creativity, and hard work into her studio. Not to mention she makes class enjoyable for all of her students. The positive, inclusive environment is one that can not be found at any other studio. The improvement of the students here is significant and recognizable. We cannot express our gratitude for the role this studio has played in our lives. Miss.Serenity plays a supportive role in the lives of all of her students. This is an amazing studio and we couldnt imagine going anywhere else. Audrey Parks (and Tessa Rosenau)
