The experience my wife and I had with David Boyko and his funeral home was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. The Boyko funeral home was recommended to us by the staff at the LVHN Hospice care, upon my mother-in-laws passing because we only needed cremation services as we are holding an out-of-state internment and ceremony in the near future. We were told that this funeral home was reasonably priced and would provide the service without pushing unneeded services. Mr. Boyko was extremely responsive at first, even giving me his cell phone number. He scheduled a meeting with us on a Sunday morning two days after my mother-in-laws passing. My wife and I arrived and walked right into the middle of a funeral. As we were returning to our car, Mr. Boyko came running out of the building and explained that he scheduled a funeral at the last minute. He walked us through a snow covered parking lot and over shoveled snow piles to a separate building that housed the crematorium. We sat in a disorganized office filled with tombstone engraving equipment while he took the necessary information for the death certificate. At this time, he told us that he would file the notice with Social Security and that he should have the death certificates in a few days. I checked in with him, mid-week and was told that the county Coroners office had not signed off on the certificates yet. I called back on Friday and was told that I could pick everything up the next morning at 10:00am. Saturday at 10:00am I arrived at the funeral home and nobody was there. I called Mr. Boyko and he claimed that we had agreed on 10:30. I told hi I would wait. At 10:30 I received a text message that he was running late. Ten minutes later, he arrived with his two young sons. I then had to wait for nearly 20 minutes while he collected the paperwork and walked to the other building to retrieve the urn with the remains. I am writing this review a full month and a half later, as I have just received a notice from the Social Security administration that indicates they have no knowledge of my mother-in-laws passing. Sadly, after we started our business with him, and it was too late to go elsewhere, we found out that he had recently settled a case brought against him to the state Board of Funeral Directors. The Boyko Funeral Home is one of if not the cheapest in the area and confirms the phrase – you get what you pay for. I would encourage you to spend a little more money and go elsewhere.

On Behalf Of Ernesto Riveras Family, I would like to say thank you for Davids guidance and and comfort through this difficult time. David, you knew our financial issues and you were the only one that honestly took his time and worked with us too give our loved one his final resting place!! I cant find the words to thank you enough!! When no one else would even consider helping us, due to lack of funds, you were the only one that stood by our side!! Once again thank you for all that you have done!! Respectfully Yours, Edwin Santana

The boyko funeral home was a god send in my time of grief. The staff is small but they were attentive to the details and most compassionate about the situation. They helped my family the best they could and made the hard process of funeral planning much easier to bare with their knowledge of other services in the area and their attention spent on the grieving families. They were professional and also very compassionate and in times like that compassion is what you look for.

Sara Marie if you have concerns please talk with the funeral home. A review of the 39 famlies served last March does not indicate that we had any formal contact. Therefore as an outsider you probably were not privy to all of the details concerning the arrangements and service. We take great pride in serving families that call on us. Or just perhaps the service selected was a basic burial or cremation without frills and you expected something more lavish.

Have to give many thanks to David Boyko. He was very sympathetic caring and reasonable. Mother in law passed away quickly and in hospice care and David was very helpful and knowledgeable during our time of grief. From the Roman family thank you for being there.

The service I received from Boyko was horrible. Very poor customer service. My family member passed away in March and everything completed with Boyko in Oct...Not the place to go if your looking for good customer service. Look else where...
