My 8 and 5 year old daughters are starting their third full year of dance at BJDS. We really appreciate the studio, and owner, who we have found to be very personally accessible and warm. In fact, we had been at 2 prior studios (including Koresh downtown) before coming here, and we feel so happy that we decided to give BJSD a try. The breadth of offering is, in my opinion, unique and we initially walked in because of the musical theater classes offered. The studio is an amazing supporter of the local community, personally donating time and resources to those in need (she opened her doors and practically turned her studio into a refugee camp during some brutal power outages). She has attracted many amazing instructors, who are wonderful with the kids (a few of whom grew up taking classes there themselves), and who push and inspire the kids to reach for the stars. We came to the studio with some sensory issues that made tights difficult, and Miss Beth sat with my daughter to reassure her that it was OK if she didnt wear them to class, but, most importantly, she should keep dancing. Because of her, my daughter is still dancing and pursuing that love when she might easily have been turned away by overly strict rules of attire. Now, 2 years later, its not an issue but the owner will still sit and take the time to chat with my sometimes anxious girl to discuss appropriate classes or anything else of interest. She clearly loves dance, and inspiring a love of dance in my girls, and I appreciate that almost as much as I appreciate how warm and friendly her studio feels. We feel known, cared about, and very much at home here.

My daughter Maya is ten years old and she has been dancing here since she was two. She is now a member of the Dance Company. I have watched Beth expand her studio over the years into a place where I feel my daughter is getting the background she needs to become a strong dancer later in life. The focus is on technique and professionalism. Narissa and Dana, two of her top teachers that work with the company are dancers and are top notch. Beth goes above and beyond to not only get to know the girls, but to listen to feedback from parents and teachers in order to create a program that works for individual needs. Beth also gives back to the community by donating her time at school carnivals, collecting shoes for a sick childs fund raiser and much more. If you are looking for a dance studio that will not put pressure on your daughter or son to overload themselves with company dance classes like many of the other studios in Montgomery County, this is the place for you! Quality tops quantity and more tuition for Beth and her staff. It is all about teaching kids to learn to love the art of dance in a caring and professional environment.

Knowing Beth as a fellow professional teacher and choreographer, I highly recommend her studio. I see her commitment to excellence and innovation, while also adhering to the traditions that are important to adhere to. Frankly, I think it is wonderful that all ages of dancers, including adults, are welcomed and encouraged to participate. The joy and love of dance knows no age limits, and it is wonderful to see a studio reaching out to everyone in their community. If you go to the studios Facebook page, it is readily apparent that the studio is bright and airy, and that the dancers are well trained. The attention to technique is readily visible. I highly recommend Beths studio, and Im a fellow professional dance teacher and choreographer.

I went to Beth Jacoben for 13-14 years when I was younger, and I have to say, that was one of the best experiences for me to thrive in when I was little. I was taught by very professional and fun ladies who have passion for dance. Beth and my long term tap teacher are both still in my life and keep in touch regularly. I would definitely recommend this studio for anyone looking for a friendly atmosphere for their child to learn adequate dance skills without the stress and exhaustion of overworking. They keep you for just the right amount of time a week, and even when you go over, you want to stay. When I got to college, I started taking Zumba classes there, and they are just as great and for all levels of experience. :)

My daughter absolutely loves the school and all of the teachers she has had at the school have inspired her to work hard and continue to do what she loves. We have found that Beth Jacobsen is very approachable and always willing to provide any information that we need. My daughter loves the school so much that we are having a birthday party at the studio for a 2nd year in a row. The recitals have gotten better each year and it is great to not only see the young kids dance but also some of the older students that love to dance. It helps to continue to inspire the young kids that you can continue dancing as long as you want to.

Ive attended Beth Jacobsen School of Dance for Zumba Classes. The atmosphere is great. While I am usually the most uncoordinated one in the class- I dont feel intimidated. Everyone is treated the same! I have so many friends with kids of all ages that attend the school (which is how I ended up here). I cant begin to tell you how much the school has meant to them. Ive had the chance to attend many dance competitions and Im never disappointed! The dance troops always blow me away with their routines and their costuming. Beth the owner is wonderful and always ready to "give back" to the community. All around great place!

I am a proud parent of several students at Beth Jacobsen School of Dance. My children participate in everything from Competition Team to all the Community Service events. The teachers are high quality, well educated, talented and caring to all their students. In just a few weeks the students will be participating it what is to be entertaining recital, every year it gets better and better. With this year to be the 30th Dance Recital performed, this is truly a studio with many years of experience. You are part of a family here and I would recommend to anyone in or out of the area. Beth Jacobson School of Dance is terrible. Beth is a horrible at running the studio and is a very rude person. The teachers are nice, but the teaching lacks in every way. My daughter went here when she was about 7 years old and it was a terrible experience. The recital was horrific with many things going wrong that Beth and the teachers didnt even try to fix. Also, the recital is filled with teachers and adults dancing. I want to see KIDS dancing not overweight, old ladies. This school is absolutely terrible and do not recommend this studio to anyone. Dont waste your time.

Kudos to Beth and her staff of competent, caring and delightful teachers! Ive been a dancer for more then 40 years and I am so impressed with their professionalism. Beth is a pleasure to work with....she makes you feel like youve been friends forever. I find it refreshing that the music and choreography is tasteful and age appropriate. She goes out of her way to welcome the community into her studio...as if it were her own home. I was ecstatic to attend the grand opening of her THIRD studio. She certainly is doing something right!
