I really like Uncle! I think the other reviews must come from competing shops or something. Nothing like my experience. This is my first time posting a review on Google Maps and I just felt compelled to give my 2 cents, because I just cant see where these other folks are coming from. The owner has been present almost every time Ive been there and goes out of her way to make sure everyone is taken care of. The atmosphere is cool with mostly manly stuff playing on the TVs if on the odd chance you have to wait. The magazines are well stocked and up to date. The chairs are big and comfy. Theyll always offer you a coke or whatever if you have to wait, which has never been more than 5 minutes for me. Its not overpriced, their customer flow processes are just fine and they will fit you in if wherever they can for walk ins. They always have my info handy in the computer, send me email newsletters, etc. I think they fit their market perfectly- upscale products and services if you want them, but also accommodating the busy Brentwood business folks who need to get in and get back to work quickly. Ive had four different barbers- all did a great job. The short rockabilly guy, the tall rockabilly guy, Kara and finally found one Im sticking with that suits my style best- Grace Rocks! The only suggestion I can think of to make it a better experience would be to have some kind of self-serve beverage center with cokes, water and good coffee in the pump-style caraffes. Just a glass front mini-fridge with coffee sitting on it. It wouldnt cost much or add to the daily opening duties, but would go a long way in making you feel just a little more comfortable. Oh, and turn the hot towels down one notch, or ask the barbers to shake them out for another two seconds. It may feel fine to their hands, but is just barely too hot for a freshly razor-shaved neck. Amy, I dont know if youve ever run a retail business or barber shop prior to opening Uncle. I congratulate you on the success of the business and have to say that youve nailed it on all aspects- marketing/branding, products, services, processes and people. I noticed that theres a new location on Harding. Good for you. Now send Grace over here a couple of days a week!

Today I went in to get my haircut for an appointment at 11:00a.m. I showed up at 11:15 and walked up to the desk and the guy behind the desk told me that he was supposed to cut my hair but I was too late and that he had other appointments. He seemed to be the manager. Apparently lacking people skills. So, one of the girls in there said that she would cut my hair (all i wanted was a buzz) but the whole time she was rushing saying that they had appointments and that they were pushing for time. Not only did she have the experience for giving a simple buzz cut that my college roommates have, she was rude. Plus, instead of being a real classic barbershop, all they do for their classic look is buy old school barber chairs and put a shoe shine station in the room. Their straight shaves are not worth the money at all because you can go to a hole in the wall (real classic) barbershop and get one for around $15. So, if you want to walk out $25 down the drain for a buzz cut help yourself. Their idea of classic is just like guys who slick their hair and build hot rods. Tattoos and jet black hair have nothing to do with classic 1950s businesses.

Visited the shop today for a quick cut. Everything about this place seems nice at least for 1st time visitor. I called initially to see how busy they were. They had an opening so I committed to the appointment. When I arrived I was greeted and offered a drink. The shop is a bit small, but it has enough space for couple of +1 or +2 to sit while you are getting a cut. The cut was uneventful, I am not one to make chatter, but Kara was pleasant. The shop was not busy when I arrived, but few people walked in after I did. (Seemed like all of them had appointments, so I am not sure how the staff deals with a walk-in.) The shop is convenient if you are already in or near the outlet shops or Kroger. I really cannot think of any other concerns a person might have, as the outlets provide plenty of parking. The pricing seems reasonable

Ive been getting my hair cut at Uncle since they opened. They are always pleasant and Ive had the same Barber who has cut hair for 20+ years. When shes gone Ive often used other barbers with a very pleasant experience. The owner is always looking for feedback and trying to make the business better. Great small business to support! Hey John..... show up on time so the guy after you doesnt get mad and write a bad review because his barbers not ready for his appointment. What do you want from these people.

Living in Brentwood, its convenient and I have never had a bad experience with my regular barber in the last two years I have lived in TN. The price for a regular cut is fine based on the convenience of the location, and the established rapport with the employees. Product is retailed at a premium, but Im there for the cut and not the margin drivers. The only reason I would go somewhere else is if my barber moves to another business.

Walked in at 1, and they offered me a 2 appointment for a beard trim. Came back at 2 and was promptly greeted by Karah S (not to be confused with the other Kara, who Im sure is lovely but I didnt meet her) She was attentive and charming, and did a fantastic job listening to what I wanted and making it happen. She took her time and did a great job. I highly recommend this location, and especially the talented Karah S.

Being rude on the phone may not reflect on your skill as barbers, but Ill never know for sure since I wont be giving you any business. And I had just decided to give you a shot in spite of the mediocre comments. Oh well.

Uncle is the best place in Nashville to get a haircut and a shave! Ask for Laura, shell hook you up! Amy, the owner is really friendly and always remembers my name.

Love this place. I take my kids here as well. The staff is great and they always remember you. You pay a little extra for that service though, but worth it.
