NOT A GOOD PLACE TO HOST AN EVENT FOR GUESTS WHO HAVE BABIES. Attended the Royse City Graduation that took place at this convention center. I brought my 4 month old son. As you can imagine when you have a child you need to bring a diaper bag with bottles filled with breastmilk, diapers and burp rags. We wasted our time in line because of their poor planning of this event. We received a flyer that included the rules and basic info for this location. What I saw in our graduates invitation AND on their website wasnt addressed!!! Parking tickets according to the form on their website said that you could purchase tickets for $8. Otherwise, expect to pay in cash $10 when you arrive. There was no link on the website to pay for prepaid parking at $8. We were forced to pay $10 in cash to be able to park nearby. We could have walked, buy then we would not have been able to bring in the stroller. Security: How difficult is it to search a diaper bag!!! Apparently, it was beyond commonsense to do this minimal task. We already didnt bring in a car seat and stroller. The facility is not sufficient for those who may be handicapped. Or have to care for small children/babies. There were no changing tables in the dirty/wet restroom that I had to use because nature did call. And i had to enjoy walking around with poo wetness on my dress. Not to mention having to carry a baby up/down STEEP steps in the foyer and in the bland auditorium. Police with MK 15s, REALLY? What is this Iraq? Its a graduation. I guess this speaks volumes of what the city of Garland is like. How about take the parking money and the cost of the pretty parking stickers to buy metal detectors, hand railings And changing tables for the restrooms or add a family restroom. I hope that your center doesnt experience a negligence lawsuit. After this RIDICULOUS ordeal I will not hold an event there nor refer this place for an event. The lovely event staff asked dumb questions, "are you carrying any guns, knives, weapons?" REALLY? What criminal minded person is going to admit they are carrying those items? Hence, the reason to search the items!!! There were construction signs to leave your bags/ purse in the car. Event staff should have been placed in the parking lot to distribute clear bags. As well as event staff to work the traffic lines near the toll bridge to streamline the lanes efficiently. There were too many event staff standing with nothing to do.

Large space for you and 6000 friends. Unfortunately the school was in charge with all kinds odds assanine rules. Couldnt take my umbrella inside when it was poring down outside. The force you to empty pockets, check all your personal belongings. Require tiny purse or clear bag or better yet nothing at all. The police were so nice but the quantity made me wonder if there was a gang war about to break out. The graduating students were loud obnoxious and rude. They walked in the middle everywhere and would not move aside to allow the other 6000 people to go by. The parking is certainly sufficient, but the walk is not suitable for the physically challenged. Elderly and disabled should avoid this place at all costs. Is a beautiful building with lots of glass windows to see out. The building is well designed for large gathering of people but I wont be back for any event that gets held in this place.

Nice venue, clean. The only downside is that they are way too strict with re-entry if you can not bring in bags, purses, etc so basically nothing then you can only bring a phone maybe keys. What if you wanted to bring cough drops, tissues, chapstick, etc. So the only things you can bring in must fit in a tiny clear bag?! What if you are were a woman that did not want to advertise your tampons or incontinence products!!! They are too over the top here. I understand the reasoning must be from incident here 2 yrs ago however they could check bags insteaf of making you leave everything in the car and then you can not go back in. What is this? Preschool?

Nice place, however, not very handicap accessible. We attended my daughters graduation there, and my handicap mother was forced to walk down many many steps in order to get a better view of her granddaughter graduating. The handicap accessible seating was up in the nosebleed area, where she couldnt see. Security was good, but at times also very rude to others around us. Dont plan on bringing anything with you but a camera, because pretty much nothing else is allowed. Also, plan on paying for parking. Overall, ok experience.

Horrible! Nowhere on our tickets or in our email confirmation did they mention they have a no bag policy, they wouldnt even let or diaper bag in, (we have a 4 month old) ridiculous!!!!! They have 2 metal detectors for 7500 people.... really? It took an hour just to get in the building! Will never buy any tickets to any events held here!!!!!

Security guards are very rude. Visited this place to watch my daughters cheerleading competition and a security guard singled me out and made me leave because I had a megaphone. Must be his first time at a cheerleading competition. Thats kind of their thing. Nothing more than a little man with a power trip.

Very nice facility. We were there for my daughters cheer competition. Security is tight & sometimes rude, especially if you are hanging out by downstairs entrance by glass. Apparently you arent supposed to do that? Very bad cell reception & their wifi is horrible. Makes it hard to locate your people.

To Adrienne: if you at all watch the news you would have already known that at that exact place two terrorist were gunned down outside about 2 months ago so if you dont like that garland is being precautious for our safety then you must be not right in the head. Might want to know facts first.

This is a fantastic facility the city of Garland has on its hands. I attended a high school graduation event at the center and was floored at how clean it was and how not only that every seat has a spectacular line of sight to the stage, but the acoustics/sound system was better than perfect.

Nice place to hold Graduation ceremonies. They had a concession stand during a graduation along with small gift shop for graduates. Theres a fee for parking, but was well managed by Garland Police directing traffic to help with congestion after graduation ceremony.

Good place, I have been there for Indian shows, they will allow you to have Camera as well but no outside Food and water allowed. Parking fee is 20$ for evens I have been there so you can park your car in Sams, walk to the event that will save you some bucks.

Lovely venue, lots of parking. Only subtracted a star because we recently went to one of our kids orchestra shows in the ballroom there and they hadnt even set up any kind of stage. It was impossible to see anything accept the head in front of you.

Decent venue. Easy to navigate. Fairy clean nice size ballroom. If you are doing a professional conference or non sporting event I would look for another. Security protocols seem to have been the chief complaint if you are need of going in and out.

Due to an attack a while back security is strict and only allows small clear bags to be carried in, which is a good thing. Great design/lighting, ample parking space, and plenty of rooms with many purposes.
