THRC is a wonderful gym!!! I highly recommend them! The trainers are amazing and very knowledgeable! Dipo, my trainer, is the BEST!!! He takes the time to explain everything that I will be doing within my circuit including the correct form, he checks on how I am feeling throughout the exercise and what muscles I feel are activating throughout the exercise, he encourages and yet pushes me to excel (Im doing things I didnt think I could). He has a great sense of humor and is extremely personable, which makes my work out fun. He is very flexible with my schedule and the times he has available to work with me. He works with me on my diet, so as to increase the results that I am wanting to achieve (I often hear the other trainers asking their clients about this, as well). Also, I have fibromyalgia and Dipo is amazing at listening to what I am feeling on a daily basis. He is quick to adjust a work out to accommodate the effects of the fibromyalgia, when needed. For that I am grateful! His background allows him to truly understand whats happening within your body while working out. He is awesome! THRC, in general, has created an atmosphere that is accommodating for all types of people. The whole staff is extremely friendly, always smiling and genuinely happy to see you walk in the door. They keep the gym very clean and all the equipment is in good condition. The childcare center is GREAT for single mommas, like myself, and their hours are accommodating for working parents. I have never been comfortable in a gym setting but THRC has changed that for me! Thank you Dipo, Jake and all the trainers and staff for making me feel like a part of the THRC family!

This gym is nothing above average. Except that they charge hidden fees around every corner. Sure theyll get you signed up for a reasonable price but then: Childcare? Additional fee just to register each child in their system. Crossfit classes? Extra fees. Unlike all the other classes. Massage bed? Extra fees. Cancelation even though youre in the military and have no choice but to move? EXTRA FEES. Even though when my husband and I signed up it was all butterflies and unicorns like "hey no worries just bring us your orders". Now that we are being assigned elsewhere? We have to pay a cancelation fee and then additionally wait for them to stop charging via auto draft. These people are completely fake. Every time I approached the desk to talk with management they were always "in meetings". Always. I dont appreciate the way my husband and I were treated and I absolutely do not recommend this gym to anyone else. They have nothing to offer that the other local gyms cant beat, especially in military friendliness. Additionally, any of the larger gyms that have national locations could have been more suitable for us. TLDR? Do not sign up with this gym

Ive been a member for almost 1.5 years and compared to other gyms I have belonged to, this one is superior in terms of customer service and personable gym staff. I started out with the group fitness classes and was extremely happy with how welcome the trainers made me feel and how helpful they were/are during class. More importantly, I appreciate how approachable the staff is with any questions I have. The equipment is always well maintained and if something needs repairing it is done quickly. I like the member appreciation days and the fun things they do throughout the year (body combat launches, theme days, community activities). Im pleased with the childcare area and the attendants are all so nice; my kids always have a good time when theyre there (plus they have an outside play structure for them to climb on). The only issue I have had is when they change the schedule seasonally and one of my regular classes gets moved to a different time slot but there are always substitutions so I cant complain. Overall, THRC is a great place to work out!

THRC has changed my life in so many ways!!!! I have belonged to a number gyms and I would have to say hands down that Texas Health and Racquet Club is one of the best. The most significant thing I noticed walking in to THRC were the smiling faces and welcoming atmosphere. I have a very hard time with gyms because I always feel intimidated going to them and this was definitely not the case with THRC. Everyone, including the members, are so friendly and helpful and there seems to be a sense of family among everyone. I also LOVE that there is a little bit of something for everyone. Not only do they have the typical weightlifting stuff but they have a basketball court, tons of endurance machines, personal training, a Ninja Warrior course outside, not to mention different types of group classes and all for an extremely affordable price. I’m not sure that I can convey how great THRC really is, so my advice is to go in and check it out for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

THRC gets a Five-Star rating from me for these 7 reasons: 1. Hours of Operation are generous and convenient. (Most hours of the day, they are open) 2. Extremely. Clean. Facility. (Im talking THE Buc-ees of Gyms.) (Looks good, smells good) 3. Wide variety of free weights, gym equipment, work out rooms. (Youll never wait in line to work out) 4. Positive & Friendly gym community environment. (Staff members are personal, intentional and friendly) 5. Quality group fitness classes are offered and encouraged. 6. Most gyms have a bad/ judgemental vibe but THRC has good vibes and a laid back environment. 7. Parking lot is large and easily navigated. (Never worry about finding a parking spot) The owner, Mr. Randall Lavender, took time to meet with me individually and he was very personal and friendly. A good business starts with the owner and I think that the success of THRC is reflective of Randalls character.

Honestly this place changed my life. Struggling with weight loss for a few years I finally decided enough was enough and hired a trainer at THRC. The staff there are amazing and take the time to get to know you and help you achieve your goals. Its an encouraging environment, after going to gyms where I felt like I had been judged, THRC changed my view about workout facilities. My trainers were Josh and JD. They judged me for my size and pushed me to do my best and keep fighting when I wanted to give up. If youre looking for a place to workout, whether its to loose weight, gain muscle or just stay in shape, I would definitely recommend this gym. They have an awesome workout facility, raquett rooms, and even an America ninja warrior course. How cool is that?!

These people should be ashamed of themselves. When I joined, we all agreed that I would be leaving Texas within six months to a year. They said no problem, that my contract was short-term. Well, they made it as difficult as possible to cancel and stop withdrawals. I had to send letters to two different addresses, certified mail. And DONT sign up for personal trainers. They are not worth it and you auto-pay whether you use them or cancel. In fact, I paid even when they canceled. Then theres the fitness classes... youd better be in top physical condition to begin with. There was nothing for my age and level. It was an all-around negative experience. I much prefer the place I attend now. Its fun and doable with tons of variety!
