We are from Texas, traveling through the great state of Virginia, and on our last day in Charlottesville, my husband and I decided we needed a haircut before moving on. Ashley N. was gracious enough to squeeze me in (my husband went elsewhere for his). Over the next 30 minutes, I got one of the best haircuts in my life! Ashley was a real professional, very personable, and took her time with me even though I didnt have an appointment. I was worried that having someone new give me a haircut, who didnt know me or my personal style preferences, would give me a bad haircut. But, I thank fate for taking me there today. If I lived in this area permanently, she would be my regular stylist. I highly recommend Ashley N. at Salon Cielo -- she is a great hair stylist. Thank you, Ashley!

I have gone to Shannon several times for full highlights and she is very good! The first time I went to her, I also got a cut and brougt in a picture to show her the color I wanted as well as the cut. Not only did she do a great job, she actually asked me if I knew how to recreate the look that she gave me, meaning did I know how to manipulate the curling iron to create the style. I didnt and wouldnt have asked her but it was so thoughtful of her to ask. She proceeded to show me and I still use the techniques she showed me. Im not someone that is particularly loyal to hair stylists but Shannon wowed me with her customer service and thoughfullness. The salon overall is pretty nice and its easy to get an appointment.

I was just now looking back at old pictures and had to finally write the review Ive been meaning to for over a year. A lot of UVA students go here because its close to grounds, so I figured it would be safe. Nope. Worst color of my life. First of all, she brushed out my curly hair. Everyone knows youre not supposed to do that. Then she colored my hair... Only the roots apparently. The demi she put on the rest of my hair didnt do anything. So I had brown hair and red roots. It was hideous. Whitney definitely does not know what shes doing. I cant say anything about the rest of the staff, but I had a horrible experience with Whitney.

Everytime I go in, the salon is empty. Finally, on the third visit, there was an actual receptionist. So I made an appointment which I was 15 minutes early to. I walk in and the stylist is with another customer and it looks like things just got started. My hair has been burned before because a stylist was with two customers at the same time. I made an appointment that I was punctual for and I was pushed back. Im sorry, if your a walk in customer, please have the courtesy to understand that your taking someone elses appointment.

As someone who expects a high level of expertise when I go to a salon, I finally got it here. Courtney is my stylist, and I adore her! Granted, some of the receptionists suck, but when I walk out feeling like a million bucks, who cares about that. Ask for Courtney because she is AWESOME! And if you have a problem with the front desk staff, ask to speak to the manager, you may get a huge discount on product ;-)

Very clean, friendly, professional atmosphere. As someone who has relied on Mom for cuts and trims and uneven bangs, I was not at all used to the styling world, and it showed. But a great stylist sat me down in his chair and we discussed what to do with the mop on my head. I am so incredibly pleased with his skills and pleasant manners, and am happy with my new bob! I highly recommend the place.

Amy B is a fabulous stylist! She is great with helping find the right hair cut and for giving a cut that suits the time you have to spend on it everyday. I have been her client for >10 years- I came to Cielo for her services, nice environment, friendly staff. Great overall experience.

Called last minute and was booked for cut and color the same day. Very nice staff, and my hair came out looking exactly how I wanted it. They even have coffee while you wait! Definitely coming back. Ask for Katie, she knows her stuff.
