I seldom write reviews because they take time and are usually only complaints from people who dont have the skin to speak face to face but today my attitude has changed after visiting this gym. I am a small business owner myself and I want to let the owners of this gym know that their staff is great. The equipment and the amenities are brand new and they take some getting used to - no problem - I had several willing staff members want to show me around. I was leery of the XGT classes - no problem I had several staff members take the class with me the first week. The parking is easy - I usually can get a spot fairly close and the place is spotless - literally always smells brand new and I hope they stay this way because it shows pride in us small business owners. The management is super helpful and they are willing to talk to you face to FACE unlike the bigger chains that have some corporate puppet to report down to them. Dealing with this company and the "managers" has been the worst customer experience I have ever dealt with in my life. I went into the store to cancel my membership 3 months ago because I moved and it was not convenient location for me. When in the store I signed paperwork and they assured me my plan was canceled and I would not be charged a cancelation fee or be charged anymore. I now have been continuously charged each month since and have called at least 10 times asking to speak with management only 1 time a manager was actually at the store. When I did get to talk to a manager she was not only rude but obviously did not do one thing to actually cancel my membership or refund my money which she assured me would happen. I also have emailed their website and have asked for someone to help me get this resolved and have had no response. If you want to join a gym and ever have to cancel and want to pay them for months after with no outlook of anyone caring to help you or call/email you back then this is the place for you!

By far the cleanest and friendliest club Ive ever joined! I did the one week trial as I was transitioning out of my then current gym and weighing out my options. The gentleman up front (cant remember his name, sorry!) showed me around the entire gym and all the VIP facilities without feeling pressured to sign up right away. I expressed interest in the membership that came with the XGT access so he walked me in there, introduced me to the coach, and I took a class that same day! I ended up joining and have been attending the 5PM classes with coach Carlos on a regular basis! The classes are fun, high energy, and I appreciate the coach taking the time to correct our form when lifting weights. I also appreciate that after I joined, the guy who signed me up didnt completely ignore me after he got me in but instead makes an effort to greet me every time and give me quick tips and pointers when he sees me out on the floor. If everything stays consistnat, I do not see myself ever leaving this gym.

A year ago I decided to get my life together and start exercising and eating right. I was able to lose 50 pounds on my own and really became a gym junky :) in a good way. I found this gym through a friend of mine who went to an event on Saturday called XGT in the Park and I never felt so welcomed in my life!!!! I will tell you this place looks amazing and IS amazing. The staff is top of the line and the manager is the best guy I have ever met at a gym in my life especially when he does XGT classes with us! The energy and community feeling in this gym is what makes it special. The XGT is what makes it GREAT. I love my Smart Gym family!

My first interaction was to get a couple of my soccer teams in the door and have them get better physically and learn proper techniques. It quickly turned in to a hard working staff that wants to make the individual better than it was the day before. After 8 weeks of weekly Tuesday classes both teams have improved dramatically. As for me as thier coach. I signed up my family of 4 and havent looked back since because of the awesome positive experience with each of their team members. SmartGym XGT it is the place to be!

LOVE, LOVE THIS GYM!!! THE ASSOCIATES ARE GREAT, THEY MAKE ME FEEL RIGHT AT HOME. THEY ARE SUPER NICE AND CARE ABOUT MY HEALTH. ITS NICE TO BEABLE TO COME TO THE GYM AND NOT SEE A BUNCH OF PEOPLE JUDGING YOU, HERE EVERYONE COMES FROM ALL WALK OF LIFE AND WE ARE ALL HERE WITH THE SAME GOAL TO BE HEALTHY AND FIT. I RECOMMEND THIS GYM TO EVERYONE, ITS CHEAPER THEN THE BIG GYMS, ITS MORE PERSONABLE, THEY HAVE FREE WEIGHTS, CARDIO MACHINES, XGT CLASSES (BETTER THEN CROSSFIT) THE COACHES AND PERSONAL TRAINERS ARE AWESOME!!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They make a point to remember you. Its very clean and welcoming. Ive never had a problem with any equipment being out of order. Someone always comes to say hi while your working out, just to make sure your doing okay. Its a very nice gym, lots of free weights, they have XGT training classes, and a wide variety of machines from cardio to weighted.

Read the contract before you sign. I signed a 3 month contract for PT and it auto renewed. I told my trainer I wouldnt be back, yet they still took out for the next 2 months and are charging me for a 3rd because they have to have 30 day notice. I called several times and they didnt give me customer services number. Total rip off!

Today was my first time in the gym and was very satisfied with my visit. I got a 1 hour free training with Bryan when i enrolled. He took the time to listen to my goals and explained me how i was going to achieve them and gave me a workout plan we also did a small workout together. You see friendly trainers and people here.

Be careful when you sign up. They will have you sign a contract and wont let you cancel unless its in person, late fees that cost more than the gym member ship itself, and if you owe anything at all that will prevent you from canceling and they will keep charging and only make the problem worse.

Be smart when signing up. They lie and when you sign contract will never let you to cancel. When you ask them I was told its not a contract and was month to month. Will tell you we the person gave you membership is no longer working and will make it hard for you to cancel.

Very happy with my decision to join the Peoria location, Smart Gym. The staff is always nice, friendly and available to answer questions. Also, love how clean they keep all the equipment and the gym. Ive been a member for two months and havent seen anything negative yet.

What amazing gym. Its very clean and the staff is wonderful. Spencer was great in answering all my questions and showed me some great workouts. I definitely recommend this gym to others that may be interested.
