Summary: My experience has been great. I am excited for the opportunities available through APR. Im glad to be doing business with them, and for them. I am surprised to read such negative reviews on APR Consulting. I have been working for them as a contractor for a top-notch, in-fact its one of dream companies, corporation. APR negotiated fairly on my behalf for a great rate of pay and was very forthcoming with details and answers about the job, the onboarding process and anything else I could think to throw their way. Granted, no one has yet called to check on me to see if I like the job, or make sure Im not having any issues. Their laissez-faire approach to contractor management is kind of refreshing. I am confident that if I were to have any concerns or issues with this position it would quickly addressed, just as they have been responsive to all my other questions and concerns during the hiring process. As for complaints about not getting vacation pay, sick pay, or other typical perks of a full-time employee, I am likely to presume that you have not worked as a contractor very often. Typically contracting firms and placement agencies do NOT provide such benefits until you have accumulated "x" working hours. Not very different from a direct hire situation. Im impressed the 401k plan is matched and will resume with no problems if you end a contract and start another one before 12 months of the previous contracts end. How many direct-hires have that kind of benefit.

I personally would NOT Recommend APR. After spending nearly $100 bucks to come to an Interview, I drove from San Diego to LA and back then was offered a position which I was told would pay better than what they originally told me. They had a lame excuse about my lack of experience (what a joke, most likely, I was over qualified) they tried to Low Ball me into taking less money. And using the excuse... with the economy (what BS) When I said no thanks to the offer, the tone was no longer so nice. I was basically belittled and felt as if I was being threatened. The Agent reminded me that I was unemployed and its better than nothing. LA is much too expensive for anyone to try to live on $17 an hour especially a single person just moving to the city. The same exact position I held up until a year ago paid 65% more than this offer. Of course this was on the East Coast and aside from making more than $1k a week Rent there was 50% less than LA. I remember why I left LA the first time. Nice to visit... too expensive to live. Watch the tricks these guys have. Most people dont realize these Agencies make 30% on top of what they pay you, the person who goes to work, does OT gets no Benefits, no Holiday pay on and on... An Agency receives a flat rate from the Contracted Company so if they can get you to accept a job for pretty much nothing they are making a pretty good amount off of you. Yes, be glad to get a job however you deserve to be paid a fair amount for YOU doing your job.

I agree with the prior review that you should temper your expectations. APRs benefits are not good, the people who work there are definitely looking out for themselves, and the company seems to be taking advantage of the down economy. You get no paid holidays, vacation days, or sick days either. I tried negotiating and even learned that a few of their contractors get paid days off, but I believe you will have to know someone in the organization or have some sort of specialized skill to get this. Worth a shot though. Im still unclear how staffing agencies like this get away with what they do. The people who work at APR dont strike me as particularly keen eyes for talent, yet they are full time employed folks. On a positive note, I was able to turn my contract position into a full time job about 6 months after I started so there is hope.
