Worst experience with a roofing contractor in my life. They put a new roof coating on a house I purchased. It had a 3 year guarantee against leaks. Before closing escrow I got in writing from them that the leak guarantee would transfer to me as the new owner. The first month I lived here there were leaks which damaged drywall. I called them numerous times and left numerous messages. They didnt return my calls. Finally I did get a hold of someone and they tried to tell me the guarantee doesnt transfer to the new owner. I told them I had it in writing that it did. They came out to do one spot repair. A while after that an entire portion of a room was collapsing because of water pouring in with $7,931 in damage. I had to hire another company to do the work because this company wasnt returning calls. Currently there are still 2 major leaks when it rains that Im trying to get repaired. I finally spoke with Bob Piva, the owner, on the phone about all my issues with the work. He said he would personally come out then angrily stated "If I were you I wouldnt want ME to know where you live". The statement doesnt really make sense since he does know where I live since he did the job. Anyway it was told to me in a threatening way so they are no longer allowed on my property. I also spoke with the manufacturer of the roofing product they used. The very nice gentlemen from the roofing product company came and told me they shouldnt have used that specific product on a roof that gets ponding water.

Called them to fix some broken tiles. They did arrive when expected, and completed the job in 1.5 hours. First taste of bitterness was realizing that I paid $200/hr for a roofer. Second was a leak that developed in an area that didnt leak BEFORE they worked on it. Okay, maybe its just a coincidence. Im cool with it. When I called service rep Brian to get them back out I was reminded I only paid to have them fix 14 tiles... What? I paid to have you fix the roof! I dont care how many tiles were broken, I just wanted it fixed. YOU said it was 14 tiles. In any event, I asked them to come back out and check it out. Give me another estimate if need be, whatever, I just want the roof fixed. They never showed. After two more calls I was transferred to Keith... he gave me attitude, but said theyd come out to check it out. Again, no show. I feel ripped off more by their attitude then I do the work. I will never call them again. Not recommended!

Piva came out promptly when I called about a leak that developed after the first heavy rainfall in Rancho Bernardo. They scheduled a repair, and there was another big rainfall immediately. They came out, made the repair, and we have had no problems since. They did a good job matching the 20 year old roof that they had installed originally. I am in the process of calling them back for another roof repair, elsewhere. Very happy with Piva.

Bob Piva roofing replaced my roof about 15 years ago. Its been rock solid, no leaks at all since (despite having 3 large skylights). I frequently have neighbors ask me who did my roof as their contractors were unable to get that much life out of their repair jobs. Just got another call today, so I thought Id post this to let people know my experience with Piva roofing.

Excellent contractor. Good price, on schedule, great work. And, followed-up on work outside of original quote - at no additional charge. Thank you, Brian. I recommend Brian and Piva Roofing to friends and family.
