I just left Avant Gard and burst into tears after having my eyebrows done. Months of growing my eyebrows out to have the modern look of a straighter/low arch was just waxed away in 15 minutes. Last month I had my first ever eyebrow shaping and wax with Lauren. She did a fantastic job and we had a plan to grow and shape my brows the way I stated above. When I went in today, I expected Lauren to just clean up my brows and continue working on growing and shaping. I was shocked when I looked in the mirror to see that Lauren had waxed my eyebrow hairs and given me arches! I guess I should have restated to Lauren what we had gone over previously. I thought they kept notes on individual clients much like colonists but apparently not. Now my beautiful thick eyebrows are thinned out and arched and will take months to grow out. Avant Gard comped my appointment and I left Lauren a tip but I am very upset about what happened. I spoke to Christine, the front desk manager, and she was very sweet and offered to have a make-up specialist how to deal with my eyebrows, but I declined. I even cancelled my massage for Saturday because I am so upset about what happened.

Ive been going to AvantGard for mani/pedis for several years now. Vante is terrific, and so are Selma and Debbie. The reception and scheduling staff are pleasant and incredibly professional, Wonderful ambience - so much so that I hate it when my appointment comes to an end. I especially appreciate that every instrument is either autoclaved or new, right out of the package. I recently had to go to another salon and was horrified to see that they didnt show the same concern for my health. My only issue with the nail salon is that when I was recovering from ankle surgery they were unable to accommodate me as the pedi stations are elevated via a couple of steps that I could not navigate. Would have been nice if theyd offered to perform my pedi in a modified environment - maybe in a manicure station. Over the past year Ive had three facials - their five-star facial is glorious. Very attentive aestheticians. AvantGard is a little pricey, but they have a subscription program that makes treating yourself regularly a little easier on the budget.

I recently visited Avantgard a few days ago and simply put... exceptional, red carpet, first class and I cant wait to return again in February (appointment already made!). I have neglected my skin for so long. In past years I received a facial every 4-6 weeks, but due to financial strains, I had to put my skin on the back burner.. but NO LONGER! I FINALLY used a gift card I had savored for 2 years. I was blown away from the moment I entered Avantgard. It never fails... amazing customer service, the staff is exceptionally professional yet very warm. The gift area has FANTASTIC gifts for any occassion, literally and lastly my facial was over the top (Arienna!!! amazing hands!). Come to find out, the spa has an offer to receive a facial monthly for $89 and THATS WITH A PEEL! My friend and I are hooked, thats it, skin neglected NO MORE! $89 was a price I paid some years ago. I cant WAIT to go back in just over a month... Thank you Avantgard for reminding me my skin is a priority!!!!

The service here is really great - I came here for a mani/pedi and everyone took their time with me. The other thing I really liked was the massage was a real foot massage with a good amount of pressure. A lot of places you go employ people who dont have any true experience with massage so it either doesnt feel like anything or hurts. Not the case here AT ALL. My manicurist was skilled in massage and understood where she should be focusing on my foot and legs to relieve the most stress. The decor is also really wonderful - I took at look at both of their buildings and the owner really did a wonderful job with the interior space. You feel like youre at a high-end spa.

Ive been a customer of AvantGard Spa for several years now... I would have to say about 95% of the time they are WONDERFUL from services, to the items in their store, and their Sparties! I do my routine eye brow wax & tint. I get a massage probably only 1 time a year. I purchase my makeup from them now after meeting with one of the Makeup Reps at a Sparty event. I also get oils, lotions, diffusers, etc. from the store. Ive even checked online to see what the mark-up is on the boutique pricing was like and found that everything I purchase is totally normally priced! I was really excited to see I wasnt over paying!

okay, start with available parking, an efficient friendly staff, chilled vege infused water or hot tea to sip in the gorgeous relaxing lounge (tho, unless you arrive early you wont get to experience this for long!) Beyond that my body waxing and eyebrow treatments have been very professionally delivered BY professionals that care about their return clients. After all...its a business and they get it!

I have been going to AvantGard for many years and have always been impressed by the staff, the service and the beautiful surroundings. Lesley does a wonderful job on my less than wonderful brows, the massages and manicures are great. And if I am looking for a hostess gift or birthday present, the little boutique is full of surprises - always something different. Its a very special place !

I have been going to AvantGard since moving to San Carlos (6 years ago) and it is the only place I will go for manis, pedis, or massages. I splurge and treat myself to a facial a couple of times a year and they are fabulous. Each of the staff are warm, kind and generous of spirit. The environment is CLEAN, calm and relaxing. Bella you have done yourself proud!

Had an amazing massage here. They are so professional, and from the moment I walked in, I felt pampered. This is an oasis in a busy city. The massage beds are also very comfortable and solid. I like that they heat the beds so you are not cold and really do everything right. I highly recommend. I also had the best pedicure Ive had in at least 20 years.

I have been a client since the spa opened and the service and products have consistently been the very best. I have never been disappointed. The staff are all wonderful and the ambience is just lovely; serene and peaceful. It is a fantastic get-away experience. I cannot say enough good things about this spa and the services they offer.

Amazing mani/pedi. Everything smells so good and amazingly relaxing. While I had the paraffin on my hands, I got a quick shoulder massage. Such a nice touch. I love that theres no chit chat and its so quiet...feels like Im removed from all the craziness of life!

AvantGard has that totally peaceful feeling one wants for a spa day and the massage and facial staff are really skilled, providing excellent service. With serious back problems I really appreciate a good massage and the concern for my needs was very genuine here.
