An upstairs flood is every homeowner’s nightmare. This year it happened to us. Drywall was soaked, carpets and hardwood floors destroyed. For the first time ever we had to make a claim on our homeowner’s insurance policy. Everything was in upheaval. But Maurer Construction stepped in and helped us through the process of negotiating fair compensation from our insurance company, and then step-by-step they got things back in order. It is a wonderful relief to have everything tided up—it’s” home” again! And thanks to Maurer Construction, our home has actually been improved and is now in better shape than it was before the flood. Our new hardwood floors gleam, good quality carpets are soft underfoot, the accent moldings are superbly crafted, and the carefully painted walls now have a delightful texture. And Maurer Construction kept within budget, too, which proves that if you pick the right people you can have it both ways—superb craftsmanship and competitive pricing. If a customer is okay with “good enough” standards, rough workmanship, potential project delays and serious cost overruns, then just about any contractor will do. But if homeowners take genuine pride in their home, and are also careful with their money, Maurer Construction is an excellent choice. We’re very pleased we went with them! Drs. Last summer we hired Maurer Construction to remodel our master bathroom in Point Loma. The father and son contractors gutted everything down to the studs and the plywood subflooring before transforming the room. We couldnt be happier with the finished product. Their design and building expertise were superior. They also managed to incorporate everything we wanted! Bill Jr. and Sr. have extensive experience with commercial and residential remodels, as well as luxury yachts. This experience and their pride in workmanship were evident in every detail of our remodel, from exactness of measurements to the preparation of floors, walls and shower foundation. Their subcontractors also did quality work and were constantly supervised. The worksite was cleaned up daily and we felt very little disruption during construction. We built two homes previously and weve done numerous remodels with different contractors, but we have never been more pleased with the quality, timeliness, and professionalism of the work. Business owner Bill Maurer turned out to be an excellent communicator, superb in executing the given task of coordinating the different trades and keeping everything on schedule and given Budget! From the get-go, Bill displayed knowledge that only a company can have that has been in business as long as his. His priority was to give my client the best of the best within a tied budget without compromising quality and looks. He was hands-on in making sure every single detail was perfect, the client was thrilled with his presence at all the important stages of the project. I would highly recommend Maurer Construction for any remodel. They did a fantastic job on our bathroom remodel. Once they got started they worked extremely fast with absolutely no delays. They were very conscientious of the fact that we were still living in our home and made every effort possible to minimize the disruption that a remodel can create. They cleaned up their work area daily and spent considerable time making sure that everything was in working order when they left each day. This was extremely important since we only have one full bathroom. Bill is easy to work with and very personable. He would keep us updated daily and asked lots of questions about what we really wanted. In the end we have a bathroom that is beautiful. We plan on using Maurer Construction again this summer for more home updates and repairs.

For years we had a minor problem with water pooling under our house, particularly in the wintertime and after rainstorms. Maurer Construction assessed our situation, and recommended a modestly-priced solution that combined a sump pump and circulating fans to keep the soil dry under our house. It is a tight, rocky and uncomfortable working environment under most California homes, and ours is no exception. Yet this contractor was willing to crawl in underneath our house, and do what needed to be done, without cutting any corners. They excavated a hole for the sump pump and installed and connected everything very efficiently. It fixed our problem beautifully and the solution should last for years to come. Maurer Construction remodeled both of our bathrooms and we couldnt be more pleased with the results. Everything was professional right from the start. We interviewed several contractors and were impressed with the promptness of the initial quote and the follow-up required to work out the details. Bill and his Dad were here everyday, working hard, and finished on time. They kept the worksite neat and clean. Its obvious they have a lot of experience because of suggestions and solutions they offered. It was a pleasure to work with them and wed definitely hire them again!

Bill Maurer and Maurer Construction was great! Ive heard so many nightmares on kitchen remodels, but that wasnt the case with Maurer Construction. I got my beautiful, forever kitchen with custom cabinets, marble countertops, and new floor plan. He was able to complete the remodel within the time given and fixed multiple safety and fire issues that were hidden behind walls and floors. No Job Too Big or Small - Bill was a great help this winter. I needed a new wall heater installed, and vented. He came over the day I called and installed it, and now I no longer have to worry about being cold this winter thanks to Bill at Maurer Construction, Inc.
