I have been going to Kim & Company for many years and would never dream of changing salons. Why? No matter where I go, I receive compliments about my hair styles from the owner, Kim Brown. Strangers regularly compliment me, and by regularly, I mean after every single cut. Strangers have asked if they can take pictures of my hair in multiple cities, states, and countries. Here are two examples. Once in the late afternoon in Santa Barbara when I was sitting at an outdoor cafe sipping coffee, a group of women approached me and told me their goal for the day was to find a new hairstyle they liked and, hopefully, change stylists. They enthusiastically and unanimously voted mine as the hands-down favorite of the day. They were disappointed that Kim does not work in Santa Barbara, but took multiple photos to show their stylists. My second example occurred one day in a grocery store in San Luis Obispo. A woman stopped me and asked where I got my hair cut. I later found out that on her way home from the store, she stopped in at Kim & Company and set up her first appointment. My favorite part of this story? I had just worked out and had not styled my hair at all that day. I had just run my fingers through it after showering. It certainly wasnt looking its best right then. What a compliment to the quality of Kims cut! Its not just women who compliment me; men appreciate my hair too. Quite a few men tell me they wish their wives would get hairstyles like mine. Beyond Kims great styles, the staff is always friendly and the salon is a welcoming, relaxing, cozy respite from a stressful world. Ive had multiple great massages and manicures and pedicures too. Kim runs a professional, quality salon. We are so lucky to have someone of her caliber in San Luis Obispo. I only wish I could give Kim & Company more than five stars!

I started going to Kim for my hair needs the summer before my wedding. She is AMAZING. I have never had such a good cut in my life. I have very thick straight hair but she was able to make it look wonderful with out a lot of styling after I left. She put beautiful highlights in it for me too and I always got exactly what I asked for. This is not a hair artist that takes liberties with your hair, you get what you ask for the first time! All of the staff is very friendly and accommodating as well. She did my hair and make-up for my wedding and I would not have had it any other way. Ive gotta say I think I looked pretty awesome! One of the girls did my nails for my wedding as well, I had no idea what she did was even possible! I had no idea they could take straight glitter and do just the tips of my nails! I even got to pick three different glitters to mix together and she made them "fade" the way I wanted them to. Two of my bridesmaids had theyre hair done for the wedding by two other stylists and they were very happy with the results as well. I would recommend them to any one!

I have been going to Kim and Co for several years now for waxing and I want to comment on the review about getting Impetigo from waxing. I am a Registered Nurse and I can tell you how much I checked out the technique and procedures used by the esthetician for waxing. I am VERY cautious regarding communicable disease. Impetigo is most frequently caused by a (microscopic even) break in the skin, which waxing can cause, and an individuals own Staph bacteria that is on all of our skin infects the underlying skin tissue. When a practitioner adheres to infection control procedures someone could still get this skin condition, especially near the mouth, but it is not due to poor technique. Trust me, there is no double dipping here!

I had my brows, upper lip waxed. It took me weeks to figure out what happened because I started getting bumps on my lip and it was itching like crazy. I got Impetigo from them. The esthitician was very unprofessional and it was anything but relaxing. I moved here last summer and get my brows died and waxed on a regular basis. After the waxing I had my hair color weaved and was supposed to get it cut. I was there for over 2 and one half hours and had to leave without the cut. At the end I was happy because I knew I would never be back and would never let her cut my hair. I would never say anything to hurt anyone but this was not only a horrible experience I paid for it in more than money.

Kim Brown is one of the best and most concientious salon owner/operators in the business today. Kim takes extreme pride in her work and customer satisfaction. The salon environment is soothing and friendly. I have read a couple of the negative postings and I do not understand what may have happened with these individuals. I can only speak for myself to say that I plan to remain a loyal customer for many years to come. At Kim and Company Salon you will have a wonderful experience as do all who attend. I highly recommend this salon for all services: Hair, Nails, Massage, Facials...etc. etc. etc.

I had the BEST experience and Kim and Co. I just moved to SLO area and get REALLY nervous with new people doing my hair. My appointment was with Candice and she rocked!!! Talked to me about everything she was doing, made sure I was ok with it and would talk about what I wanted and what she thought would be good. My hair looks and feels great!!! They provide so many services that I will DEFINITELY be going back and there was such a warm welcome from the moment I walked in. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Best massage I ever had! Ive had massages all over world and Ive only had a few really good ones, but Jasons massage takes it to a whole new level. He found my problem areas immediately and not only addressed them without trying to kill me with too much pressure but he reversed a tension issue I had in my shoulder for years! Hes extremely proffessional and knowledgable about the human anatomy. Im feel fortunate to have finally found a wonderful massage therapist close to home.

I had 2 facials from sabrina. The facial was ok beside being broke out for a week after. Then a while after my facial I heard from my friend and now former client that sabrina had spoken poorly of me for talking about my children "too much". My children are my life as well as my husband. I feel sorry for her for being alone but this was very unprofessional. I will never return there!

The Salon seems like it is going to be a well-run one, but it was anything but! Kim was rushed, rude, and could have cared less that I was not happy with my color-which was uneven. She was more concerned with what everyone was going to order for lunch! Three days after my hilites-they broke off!! I would never go to this Salon and I would warn everyone!! BEWARE!!

Kim & Co is one of the best salons in SLO! Sabrina the esthetician is the best. Shes very caring and professional. If you dont get exactly what you want she will bend over backwards to make sure you do. Also her room is very clean and she adheres to all standards of cleanliness and safety. Give her a try and you wont be disappointed
