Katie, John, and their staff are great. Weve been taking our Subaru and VW to their shop since moving to SLO, and each time in our experience has been great. Most recently I stopped by to get one of those "mystery items" looked at (a small amount of oil leaking from somewhere, plus a "hot oil" smell). Katie checked their logs from my previous visits and reminded me that theyd noted some valve gasket seepage some time ago (it was noted in the report theyd handed to me at the time, but they keep their records much better organized than I do at home). John walked by, ducked under the car, and confirmed the cause and explained what would need to be done to fix the leak (and what would happen if I chose to do nothing). Katie had an estimate for me more or less by the time John was done explaining what would need to be done to resolve the issue, with her estimate including "nominal" and "worst case." I was in an out in just a few minutes with my peace of mind restored (at least as far as car stuff goes).

Ive known John and Katie since they opened and Reeves Auto is the most honest and fair place youll find. The diagnostic and repair work is unmatched. They also wont waste your time and money with unnecessary evaluations. You can easily tell that John has a great love of cars and appreciates getting them running right. Also, the vintage collection and decor in the waiting room is awesome!

Best mechanic in the whole wide world, John is like Car Talk. he once diagnosed the problem with my Subaru while I was driving the Alaska-Canada Highway, and making the noise for him over the phone! Hes a great and honest and brilliant guy. They dont make em better than this!!
