10/30/14 For my 33rd birthday in September my husband bought me a facial with the Groupon deal offered by Indulge Salon. It was an organic European facial with caviar treatment. I had never had a facial before and really had no idea what to expect. I set the appointment for a Friday afternoon and planned to leave work early and get a good start to an enjoyable weekend. I spent the night before looking up what takes place during a facial - I couldnt really figure it out so I went in without any expectations. I easily found parking in their private lot and after I was taken to the back room I was instructed to disrobe and change into the soft robe provided, then climb under the covers of the comfy treatment bed. Jewel talked me through each step of the process (at my request - she asked first if Id prefer to hear about it or just enjoy the treatment in silence). It is a very relaxing and enjoyable process. I felt bad for the stylist outside of our room who was having to listen to the baby mama drama of a client. This girl loudly discussed very intimate details of her relationship with her boyfriend and how she couldnt have children, blah blah blah. Thank goodness for Pandora! Jewel put on the music and turned up the volume to tune her out. My facial started with a cleansing, and then went step by step to hydrate, exfoliate and moisturize. There were no extractions done (which was the only thing I was worried might feel uncomfortable), but it just the opposite - everything felt amazing and I had to try my hardest not to fall asleep. Its a really nice feeling to hear a skin care professional say that you have nice skin - especially when Ive now reached a point in life that I no longer get IDed very often. My skin felt (and looked) even nicer the day after my facial. It really glowed! My shoulders, arms and hands were also massaged and moisturized but that was nothing compared to Jewels gentle touch massaging my face. This is definitely a great gift idea. Ill absolutely buy a facial for my mom, and likely for my husband. I think hed really enjoy the process too. And I hope I get lots more as gifts myself!
